Back and good to see that things are going well

Hey all, I've been gone from the forums for a while as work has been crazy and not much has seemed to have gone on publicly with this game. I've got no probleme with that Icarus seems to know the score.

I am however overjoyed at FED's announcement for an (un?)official PR guy who will give some more updates out. Looks like things are really starting to shape up.

One thing I saw a brief mention of was some kind of rewards system where there would be in game rewards for extra money paid...I hope this was just a rumor.

I'm trying to find the post where I saw this, but can any one give me more detailed info?

Thanks

Clive

For Christ sake I hope this was a rumour and nothing more.

It is bad enough we have SONY Station exchange bull, with players buying virtual items for real hard cash. Also with City of Heroes with their special DVD edition, which did cost extra, where you got a special cape and a V.I.P. badge.

To have this company then try to con us to pay more, by offering in game items from the start is really crossing the line.

If they do go ahead and implement this, with special extra-expensive editions, pay to play offers and account "upgrade" options, then I for one will be voting with my feet showing my disgust for such practices and taking my MMO dollar elsewhere. image

In eq2 this was a nightmare...

With the super-deluxe package which costs a fortune, you got a baby dragon to put in your house, which people are now selling for 6plat a piece, which throws off the economy some.

All these pay for rewards rather than play for rewards ideas are horrible... It just shows the money-hungry side of developers...

    Please be false.

Some "super-deluxe" packages are fine I think, as long as it DOES NOT affect the game balance in any way. Guild Wars was like this, it had the option of the collectors package which was more expensive but came with headphones, a hardcover artbook, soundtrack, and an ingame glow that did NOT affect combat. As long as it doesn't sway game balance I'm cool with it.

Oh yeah, I agree with you there sinoth, the WoW package was fine, it just came with some extra goodies like an art book, and then an in game out of combat pet for every char you make. Just cosmetic effects are fine...
