character deletion?

spamwichspamwich Member Posts: 51

well, i played everquest 2 from release, and got a char to lvl 50 in the first 2 months of playing * school holidays :P). anyway, i got bored fast, and now, today, i really got in the mood to resubscrive to the game.

i was wondering, does SOE delete characters after a certain time of inactiveness? if so, how long? i think i actually quit sometime from january to february....

TIA

Well they SAY they do. I dont remeber how long, but In most cases they dont. I had a friedn that was with me since realise but left a few months later. He reactivated last week and his toons were still there, so I am guessing yours will be as well.

Let us know how it goes. But I think you are safe. Esp since SOE is offering 7 day free for former player to reactivate there accounts.

IF it puts your mind at ease, I had my account cancelled for over 8 months and when i resubbed my lvl 32 Dirge was still there.

Never seen an SOE wipe before (doesn't mean there weren't any). They say they do, but they were able, when I came back in July on Station Pass, to take my old EQ1 account and merge it with the EQ2 account and viola! All my old characters were still there from EQ1. Very pleasant surprise, since I'd written them off. Heck, it'd been about a year prior since i'd played EQ1, so I wasn't expecting much... but old characters dating WAY back were still there.
