Making FFXI Guild

Hey, a few of us have thought of the idea to make our own guild for ffxi.
My idea is that we all decide on a server first. Then, the original members will be part of the guild hierarchy(sp?) and we will elect someone to be the guild leader. I'm assuming that will be Samusic, since he knows the most about the game and its dynamics.
Please post your opinions, and if you are on board with this idea.
Also post your suggestions for guild names.

i gotta be honest, i know very little about this game. never played any of the FF games. i've been following horizons and dragon empires for a while but i'm suddenly thinking about this one. i guess its more because im in a major mmorpg drought than anything else. screens look good, story seems playable...
someone give me an opinion here, is this gonna be worthwhile, especially for someone unfamiliar with the FF franchise?
Good, we have 4 people so far. Now we need samusic, and a few others from the site that are interested in the game.
First, we need to give some suggestions on what guild names we should vote on. here are mine: Exemplar--Guardians of the Relics--Bushido--Enshadowed--Legion of Heroes--Fellowship of Valor. Please post your suggestions and once we get about 15..we can narrow em down to what we want.
Next, we need to decide what server we want to play on. Go to news room and click on the ffxi link, they have a list of servers on left side. will so same with these as we do with guild names.
third, knowing we wont have a very big guild with only members from this site. I propose an idea, i dont know how to explain it unless i give an example.
EX: Say we are out xping and some random guy joins our group. We fight with him for an hour or 2..or more. And once he or one of us has to leave, if we think that we know him well enough we will vote on whether to invite him/her into a guild.
Post any other ideas that you have please.
Bah!! I say we start our OWN clan Sensei. I want to be part of the foundation and formulation of a brand new group of explorers. You sound competant enough to be a leader- no guts no glory man!! Once we've gotten established and perhaps even a website going, maybe Admin can do us some a fav' and post a link to our site on the "links" section in the game list.
Part of the fun is discovering new things with others that are just as new as you are. Based on your above idea of being very selective with the members we allow, I think we could get a very good exploring group together. Perhaps even be the guild that gets the inside grasp of certain parts of the game (ex: quests, locations, new item info). Possibilities are endless my friend. Let's standup and be the pioneers that we know we can be.

Preach on brother Desperado! You sound very energetic about this. Yes, I believe it would be fun to start our own guild because we'de be the "vets" when the game progresses. We need to make a Poll for server/guild name suggestions.
Also, I think that you should be guild leader, I am a good leader, but I dont know how to setup websites, and I dont think i am mature enough for the job. I would like to be #2 (austin powerz) /wink
Anyway, just a though. btw, which of these do you think is best for a guild name..bah sry im on slow computer, gonna get on friends later tonight and ill hook yall up with a poll.

Ok. A few more things I just thought of. We all need to decide on server, my suggestions are Shiva or Gilgamesh (i think they sound cool) no one else is suggesting so i guess well pick from my choices. /grin. Also, We need to decide which city to start out in. So we can all play in the same area, and not have to spend our early levels getting money to meet eachother. And finally, the day the game comes out, pleas post your characters name, and what times you usually play on. This will help us get organized and plan events. Such as, guild raid on carbuncle, because you need to kill the summoned monster in its NPC form, in order for summoner to summon it. So, if we have a summoner in the guild, we can plan to help take down these mosnters so he can summon them.
Anything else I have left out?

Aight man, a few additional notes...
I really think that we should wait on nameing the guild until we get atleast 8-12 solid members who will then submit suggestions and we all vote on them. That gives us a bigger pool to choose from and also lets the initiate members have some say in it.
I wouldn't mind taking the reins and being leader but I've tried this before with my SOCOM clan. I made the site and tried to keep it organized, but I simply can't fit it in with the current activities I am in in RL. I believe we need a leader with the time and energy available to be an excellent one. This is also an issue we can wait until we have a good group of people to vote/decide on.
Our first objective should be to get our first "core" group of members together, then get that group organized, then collect ideas on which plan of action to take in reference to starting in-game..... let me know what you think.

Ok, my bad, your right. See, thats why you need to be higher rank then me. I have good ideas, but I impliment them at the wrong time.
We should atleast figure out what city to start in, and Server. If you click on news room link for ffxi there is a site with good info/server names/city names.
Me and uhh...forgot his name, have voted on Gilgamesh. Anyone else approve of this server (just a name really, nothing special about different servers)

ill join! i might end up starting late though because of "financial problems" (my own freaking cousin fired me! me! his favorite nephew! apparently i dont do anything but play games there, but they dont give me anything to do! sry... yea).

Btw fellow guildies..err...soon-to-be-guildies, I will be posting a few days before the game goes live, and we will decide on which server to play on, currently leaning torewards gilgamesh, say "aye" if you approve. Also, on that post, we will be voting on which city to start at, so we can be in the same area in the beginning..since its a vast land, i expect travel to be costly.
Later, on the first day that the game goes live, I will be posting my character name..and once you get the game please post your characters name.
That'll be all.
my character name will be adrialic. and aye i guess, i dont care what server. and do we have a guild name picked out yet?

First of all, thanks for agreeing on the server.
Second, we will decide a guild name once we get a good amount of poeple (8-12, as desperado mentioned) so that we cna get a good amount of votes and we will have some foundation on people.

Hey... count me in. I also have another friend that will probably join the bandwagon also. I'm still very up in the air with what kind of character I want to be...
But I'll probably decide the first few days of the crash course of the game. My friend wants to be a ninja later on in the game, that's about the only thing that's concrete lol.
