Rifleman still kickass?

Hello everyone. MXO has bored me to tears sadly, and ive considered coming back to this once great game. Now heres the questions:

1. Does rifleman still kickass after they took away the mind bar (which was normally the weakest).

2. Can you go rifleman/master BH and get a good enough build to do some damage

3. Is pvp waaaaay screwed up like MxO's hackers? (hackers of course being the jedi in this game). Or is pvp a little balanced (of course jedis are strong but does anyone have a actual chance to win?)

4. Is it even worth coming back to? Will leveling be soooo hard after the buff nerf?

Thanks everyone, and hopefully Ill be playing this weekend.

Still very useful, but not as overpowered as before. Still considered the long range damage dealers. Can cloak now under certain circumstances and disappears from radar. Good some sweet new rifles (inlcuding Boba Fetts weapon).

Possible, although carbineer is more en vogue.

IMHO Jedi are about 50 % better than a good "normal" fighter. Others may say its more than that. Large scale PvP IMHO is ok, small PvP engagements may become dominated by Jedi. Yes, GOOD bounty hunters with good equipment can win against Jedi Knights (I know quite a few of these BHs), but many other BHs get their A$$ handed to them. Padawans are usually canon fodder.
    4. Is it even worth coming back to? Will leveling be soooo hard after the buff nerf?
IMHO yes its worth coming back to. Leveling is (too !) easy if you join a powerleveling group at Dantooine Mining outpost (we are talking about as few as 3 days to maximum fighter combat level aka multiple combat elite profession mastery). It would be rare to need more than 2 months of very casual play to max out your toon (except Jedi).
I recommend you join a guild soon to get some starter help. If you dont know the SWG world post combat revamp you may get a culture shock, as you have to relearn the game. But it only takes a bit of time to become used to the new techniques and having someone showing them to you helps a lot. You maybe should not choose the servers that have in the past been considered highly populated (e.g. Bria, Ahazi) as they are not exactly known to be friendly to new toons. Population on most servers is quite good these days.
    Have fun

You may have heard that many people hate the combat upgrade. I venture to guess that it's because it ruined many of their previous advantages, so temporarily they were reduced to newbie status, but even more-so the imbalances went away with only a couple exceptions. Commando is miserable. It just makes noise now as one example. It's not nearly as powerful as the particle effects and ground shaking represent.

You are asking about Rifleman and maybe Bounty Hunter. As I just retired, I basically rewrote the 'how to kill a Jedi' thing using my new template. It basically revolves around being a master BH/master Rifleman.

Yes, you can be both now.

...with plenty to spare to go around to the other things, but I chose master marksman as well.

The reason I went rifleman in combo with my Bounty Hunter, is I confirmed that you do not appear to players on radar and under certain conditions (which are too extensive to into again here, but find my post on BH tactics), you can confuse a Jedi into being triple-incapped before he even realizes he is in danger of having his name off the terminals :)

Like everything else though, using these tactics it becomes highly situational which Jedi targets are yours for the having, as Rifleman under most other circumstances doesn't apply efficiently.

I still like it though, and other uber weapons aside, I STILL think the T-21 rocks :)

Just be prepared to completely relearn a game you thought you once knew.  Don't log on and think nobody is online anymore before you look around some, as your old favorite hangouts are probably void of players now.

I personally found the return post-CU enjoyable once I got over the initial shock of "where is everyone!?" and "why can't I use my uber <insert weapon>!?"

On a personal note ... I think the CU conversion has been unkind to many a T21, but has been kind to any Laser Rifles you might have owned.

But the coolest looking so far to me is Boba Fetts K15 rifle. Even more massive than the T21.

Nasty business you can expect from a player crafted Trandoshan hunting rifle enhanced with Avatar guard loot (barrel) and BH weapon enhancement loot drops.

    have fun

LOL This reminds me of a hunting trip I went on with a couple of friends. I was using my CH toon, another guy was Smuggler/Pistoleer and we had a commando/carbineer. I wasn't attacking just trying to level up my pets, the commando doing all the ground shaking and the effects, I was thinking: "Those are some cool effects" then I glanced down at the combat chat, and the Pistoleer was outdamaging the Commando by A LOT. I didn't have the heart to tell the poor commando that his rocket launcher was being outdone by a Han Solo special.
