In all of your opinions what would you guys have to say i better? They both have their ups and downs. NCsoft is known for having decent pvp, while SOE is known for more group type games. They both have heavy competitors such as Everquest 2 and Guild Wars. But which do you guys think is better and has better games to offer?

I think you cant compare them since NCsoft is a Publisher and doesnt make any games.
I clicked on this expecting 1 thing... and was again disapointed by the childish reason.
Therefor, I refuse to answer the question at hand and give my opinion on something else to do with the topic:
NCSoft's contracts with developing houses allow for the Dev's to have complete creative control and say over their games, delay them as needed (delays are good you know... they're not just there to agravate us!), and put together a well designed game.
SOE on the other hand, while having many AAA Titles under their umbrella, is definately a cut-throat business. They completely take over creative control and have "Suits" that set dates, pushing the Dev's over the Edge.
So does EA as long as we're at it.
So, my answer is NCSoft.
But to answer your particular question: Depends what kind of gameplay you enjoy... it's unfair and just as pointless as the many "WoW VS *insert game here*" posts.

When it comes to greed, no company rivals SOE in their relentless pursue for money. The suits at SOE would sell their grandmothers for a nickle and probably have.

Well said and well put. Way back in '94 I heard about the demands made on game developers at the big studios and promptly dropped out of college and dodged the game industry altogether. I'm sure that working for a smaller game studio would be more resonable, but EA and SOE artists and programmers are working 12 hour days, 7 days a week. FUCK THAT!!!
However, I disagree with your take that they're apples and oranges. NCSoft seems to be concentrating on publishing nothing but MMORPGs. This has been EA and SOe's house for some years now. I throw in with NCSoft simply because they can take more chances with the contracts they take whereas SOE has a TON of money and human resources behind their line ups and are less likely to innovate.
I personally have met 2 prior SoE Developers. They said it was very harsh. Yup. I understand Sony does many things where NCSoft only does 1. But on another note, Sony can fall back on things like TVs, Stereos, Playstation(s), copyrights up the wazoo... They're a big player in many markets, and they got that way by doing it the way they're doing it.
The future, of MMOG development, lies in the small publishers, I believe.
Though, if I was making a game, and I had to go with 1 of the big houses. I'd choose NCSoft.

This is no contest if you look at how well they do. NCsoft is a major mmo company in Asia with lineage. If you know anything about the Asian market you would realise its alot bigger then the American market. SOE really hasnt gone far passed english clients. This is why NCsoft has more customers then SOE, and can offer to host a game like Guild Wars with no monthly fee.
On a side note, I have personally met 16 SOE developers. I wouldnt mind putting in those hours, cause they give alot to thier employees, free meals recreation areas. The main reason employess stay thier so many hours is because of the amount of breaks they make you take. Also the pay is pretty good from what I hear.
im gonna have to go with Ncsoft on this one. for some of the reasons ceaser said and a few others. i just like them better overall and their games. even though they are a publisher.
City of Heroes, City of Villians, Lineage ][ are all ran by NCsoft....and they have monthly fees...
But to topic I would have to place them in a tie....even though they have two totally different objectives. SOE makes games. NCSoft finances games.
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
Nsoft much better then Sony.
Why?
because of the quality in the games and the normal payments.
Huge example is guildwars but to compare things better, Everquest2 and COH:
Everquest2:
1. I played everquest2 and i had some problems with the graphics. the only answer i got was "you need a better graphics card, but for a small fee you can get an update". My graphics card = AGP x800 pro.
In short i found out that the support of SOE is below crap and after all those payments for the game and montly costs i expect it to be working normally r with normal support. I had to fix it myself and I did it by searching the forums after seeing a post from people with the same problem.
In short support is very cheaply/crapy done.
2. Graphics of everquest are goood but the gameplay very cold sometimes you r asking yourself if it is a mmorpg, people are just wandering around and there is hardly not communicating at all. I joined a community and guild but the chatting system is so cheaply done that it is not attractive to chat with one and another. A small sign to cut down on server loads.
3. Also the lag of pvp support is a sign to cut down on the server/bandwich loads to cut down on the expenses to make more money. And it will never appear to, only in that copied form of an arena in that expensive/not free expansion.
CoH:
1. CoH didnt had any pvp at start before the free updates and the new coming game villains that is linked to CoH for PvP.
2. Costumizing your character has never been so extreme
3. Much better chatting system. You never complain of a non mmorpg fealing in CoH.
4. I had a small problem with my sound in the game, i adressed it through the game itself and got a answer in 5 minutes. Fixed
In short SOE are moneywolfs, stereotype jew, gold diggers etc. HATE!!

I said that.

Even though SOE has its downs and such, there is one thing i like about it; and that is the Station Access. Where you get to play all of their online games for $22. I think it would be AWESOME if NCsoft did the same thing. Playing City of Heros, Lineage 2, Lineage, and soon to be City of Villain (later on add auto assault).
hmmmm never knew the potential of stationaccess, i'll look into it now
Maybe its something real good between all that bad.
thnx
Although I do agree with CeasarGhost on certain points, cosidering the quality of games that are currently published by NCSoft, I'd take SOE. Lineage I didn't like at all and CoH is a decent game but the super-hero setting doesn't attract me much. Guild Wars didn't manage to keep me more than a single day.
However, NCSoft will be publishing a few titles worth checking out, like Tabula Rasa and Auto Assault. If they offered something similar to SOE's All Access, I would consider it.
