Character Customization

So, aside from class/race/cosmetics, what will set one player apart from another player?  Don't give me, XXXX Class with YYYY Support Job; that is not enough for me.

Are players allowed to choose anything for themselves as they level up?  Perks? Feats? Do Casters pick spells to learn every level, or are we forced to buy from what happens to be available?

Thanks for any details!

Besides from race, job, and armor to change the way you look, I guess that leaves gameplay things that set you apart. Are you a crafter? If you are, are you just a hobbyist? Or do you craft to make money? Are you a well known crafter? Do you just craft for yourself - to make your own stuff? Do you overcharge? Are you fair in your prices? If people bring you the materials to craft will you charge the same price? Do you do many quests? Do you have high fame in the large cities? Do you do many missions? Do you help out new, lower level people whenever you can, or are you lofty?

I read a review that in FF Online pretty much everyone of the same race and class look the same both with their faces and usually their armor and equipment.  This was a bit disturbing to me as I like to have my character look at least a little unique.  Could you give your opinion of how varried characters look Samusic?

There isn't a huge variety right now of face types to choose from. However, couple that with all the different jobs, and you will look more different. Granted, I wish there was a bit more customization, but I guess I'd rather them focus on gameplay in the beginning than this. I believe there will be more variety of models to choose from in future expansions. This game will be out for a long time. You really don't think about it much in game, anyway.

i would rather they focus on game play this early in the games life. thats more imortant imo. you wanna  get all the hard core gamers into the game first, so they can tell all their lesser hardcore gamer friends that the game is amazing, becasue most of them woudlnt pick the game up after they hear about this shity models, then they get hooked and the chain has begun.

i am shaking in my seat waiting for the 28th to come, i was forced to quit EQ, i need a REALLY goo mmorpg to play again, c'mon Square dont fail us now.

For real, im waiting like a jackrabbit on easter morning for the 29th to come (thats when gamestop gets it).

Yeah, I'm waiting for the 29th too. I talked to the guy at EB and he said it would be out the 28th but last time when I preordered DAOC (why, I don't know) it was supposed to be in the 26th but didn't come in until the 27th. I'm actually doing all my homework ahead of time so when the 29th comes I'm playing all freakin day =P. I even took a personal day from work lol. If I can't play because the servers are down or the game is buggy I guess I'll go jogging or take a hike, becauses knowing my luck something will happen.

Not all day, but for an hour or so. Might as well enjoy the day in case something happens =). In other words I'm making alternate plans becasue whenever I take a personal day something minor yet annoying always ruins my plans. Worst comes to worse (rain) I'll stay inside and watch TV or read or something.

(I'm just messing around with the poll, wanted to test it out hehe)
