hello guys! downloaded DoAC and picked up the catacombs expansion in the store. I am so far enjoying the game immensely and I find it a shame that not many people play it. But I also have some questions.
1.) How much of a grindfest would you consider this game to be on a scale of 1 to 10. 1 being guild wars 10 being lineage 2.
2.) What class is the most overpowered?
3.) What class is the most gimped?
I plan on asking more questions here tommorow but I need sleep
Also if anyone has some good pointer tips to a newbie they'd like to share I'd be happy to hear them.
Thanks guys.

I quit L2 and have had no desire to play GW so I am not sure about your scale here. I will say this if by 1 you mean almost no grind and 10 a horrible grind then I would say a 3-4. If you have the latest expansion.
The grind all depends on your play style and goals. It is very easy to reach max level mostly from quests. Quests are often very quick. You can then choose to kill in PvE or go out to the BG from RvR and level there. It will take longer killing enemies than it will mobs (because mobs respawn a lot quicker and are always out).
On the other hand if all you want to do is kill to level then it will be a huge grind.
Mostly the grinding comes at the last few levels. Also, you get 1 free level at least every week as long as you earned a level. So that makes it seem like less than a grind.
2. Overpowered is in the eye of the beholder. What might be overpowered in one situation is not in another. It also depends on the class you are playing and what you are going up against. If I had to choose then I would say Warlock although Minstrals are very annoying and in some says unbalanced. Not overpowered themselves, but the insta mez, speed, DD, stealth just makes them a very frustraing class to deal with.
3. Gimped? Void speced eld, NS in RvR but before Realm Rank 5, or Bard perhaps. I mean gimped often depends on your play style and spec. A bard is always wanted in groups, but solo even with Mez you can have a hard time.
Grind = Depends on class. - I only have great detail knowledge of Albion so here it goes.
1 being fast paced 10 being slower then molasses on an uphill in the middle of winter.
Necromancer - 1 solo - 5 grouped
Armsman - 8 solo - 5 grouped
Friar - 5 solo - 5 grouped
So it all basically depends on what your goals are - necros level faster solo cause they can solo higher level spirit weak mobs - undead.
If you are fighting a mob that is weak vs your skill or weapon - you can take a higher level generally - now my armsman is uber- so he attacks all color mobs from grape to grey - no questions asked - but my friar can easily take reds that are weak to crush and my necro can take grapes that are weak to spirit attacks.
No one class is really overpowered - every class has its strengths and weaknesses
gimped? I have heard that armsman are the most gimped class in the game - but I have the most fun playing my armsman - I even know of players who have made the weakest class - the inconnu into armsman.
The gimping is all in what you make of it
Good Luck
Oh where to begin:
DAoC Juansanchez 50 Armsman Igraine - Back from the Grave
DAoC Prol 50 Necro Igraine - Back from the Grave
CoH Devient 28 Mace/Stone Tank *Retired*
WoW Talgar 27 Warrior *Retired*
Horizons Goledstadt 35 Dragon *Retired*
And many many others in many many games. But I always go back to my home in DAoC
I don't agree with you, This is one of the most populated mmorpg's i have played.
1) grind scale = 5
2) alb: Necro - hib: vamp - mid: lock
but it is more complicated than that...one needs the right support classes as well.
3) alb: pally - hib: mentalist - mid: thane
not trying to offend anyone...just my opinion...it also depends how you spec these.

Ok... I hope I am wrong here - do you honestly think that Necro's are overpowered? I have a 50 necro and a 50 arms - and yes a necro is GREAT vs Undead - with the deathsight spec - but unless you have a buff bot - the other 2 specs are pretty useless.
You are entitled to your opinion - but necros are only good vs undead and spirit weak creatures - IMHO - I mean - my 50 necro is a farmbot now
Off to level my friar tonight only 14 levels to go to 50

I had to chose one alb class as being overpowered. I have a level 50 necro and I think he kicks butt in PvE and RvR
