I'm really sorry if this question has already been asked btw. I simply don't understand how you can "switch your job any time at the Mog House." So does this mean that your level stays the same when your class is switched, or do you have to start all over in your exp?
Also i had a question about Subjobs. I read something about how you can get a subjob at level 18 if you do a quest i think. Can you only use the main jobs as a subjob in this case since you have to be lv 30 to access the other subjobs? I think I've confused myself, but if anyone can figure out what I'm trying to say, please tell me.
Oh and one more thing. Does the max level include your subjob's level? Or can you get your main job to lv whatever (is it 65 or 70?) and your subjob will remain half of that?
Thanks for all your help.

1) if you have a job/subjob, and you switch it with another job, you wont lose any of the lvls u gained on the job you switched out.
2)once ur lvl 18 u can get a normal subjob...once lvl 30 you can use advanced jobs as your main and/or sub
3) max lvl is lvl of your Main job.
Hmm ok, seems a bit weird to me still but I understand. So can you change your subjob just as you change your main job?
Will race have a major effect on the job you choose? I mean so much that there will hardly be a reason to switch your job? Also will you have to have 2 sets of equipment if you want to constantly change your job? I've never played an mmorpg that allowed this (is this the first game?) so the concept still seems weird to me. Sounds interesting though.

Here is one of the more informative links I can provide regarding what you're asking.
"There is only one thing of which I am certain, and that's nothing is certain."
"There is only one thing of which I am certain, and that's nothing is certain."
Here's my understanding:
Basically you start the game at level 1, that's a no brainer. (I've never played so try not to laugh at my possibly horrible job examples, they're completely random lol)
Let's say you start off as a Hume Red Mage. You get to level 11 and decide that you don't want to play your Red Mage for awhile. You go to the mog house and change your job to a monk. You are now a level 1 monk. Let's say you level your monk up to 18 seeing as you like your monk a lot. Now That you've hit 18 you can choose a support job. You remember that your red mage was level 11 and it'd be cool to be a Monk/Red Mage. Since your support job can only be 1/2 your main job's level, you are now a level 18 monk and a level 9 red mage.
You level up your monk some more, let's say to 26. You're now a level 26 Monk/11 Red Mage. You decide after all this time that you didn't like your monk, he wasn't fun at all. You want to be a Thief. You return to the mog house and choose the thief job. You are now level 1 thief. (Note that at any time at the mog house you may switch to a level 11 Red Mage, or level 26 monk). You choose a monk as your sub job 1/2 of 1 is actually .5 but I think in this case it stays 1 (I may be wrong, you may not be able to choose a sub job yet until the thief is 18, maybe Samusic could tell me if I'm wrong? You level your theif up to 30. 1/2 of 30 is 15 so your support job as monk is now 15. At 30 you may quest for an advanced job, which functions the same as the jobs listed above.
Hope that helps, if not I'll let someone else try to explain it, I'm not too adept at explaining things =P
