I recieved an e-mail today saying I've been warned for harassment.  You said I called someone a "newblet" and that's against forum rules.

I didn't know calling someone a newbie, noob, n00b, newblet was offensive, I just thought it was "poking fun"... not even that.  If someone calls me a newbie, or n00b, etc in a game or on a forum I don't get upset or cry to have someone reprimand the persons action who wrote it.

I found that recieving that letter was unjust and unfair.

I will now report anyone who I think is remotely saying anything I don't like towards me as an offesive action that I want taken care of.  This is how I feel.

Good Day,
Djin

man grow up, please I beg you

This has no place here and should be in a PM to the mods. I understand your objection to authority and order, but please for the sake of everyone here, stop.

    I second that.

I think it's the objective of your past self to make you cringe.

I couldn't figure out who sent me the e-mail so I couldn't PM them.  I'm upset with their action and I wanted to make it public that their actions was unjust and no fair.

I'm sorry to upset you two people, you didn't have to reply to my thread, so please stop flaming me.

Well that is very odd. You could PM a moderator, or the admin.

And we arnt flaming you, flaming is a direct assault with a large amount of capitals, usually followed by a number of curses, so please dotn take that the wrong way. And you usually arnt supposed to start topics asking why you were warned in the first place.

I think it's the objective of your past self to make you cringe.

Was there a 57kb something attached file?

I get about 2 mails a day from various "official" mmorpg.com adresses with an attached file, since this started I have probably gotten hundreds of them, and they are NOT from the staff.

May well be I got an actual mail from the staff in there but I relly wouldnt know, I just delete all mails coming from this place auto now, wich is kinda sad i guess.

I think this post is very appropriate as I find the moderation on these boards to be quite biased in this regard without any consistency at all.

I have seen people being called much worse things than "newblet" and not being sanctioned or having the post in question be deleted, even when brought to the attention of the admin and mods.

Also, apparently, you are not allowed to report being flamed with violating language yourself, as that is not allowed for some odd reason. Apparently only other people are allowed to report such flames against you, because if you do, you will receive a warning for doing so.

This of course makes no sense, since obviously you are the one being offended. I rarely report such offenses aimed at others, because I feel everyone has their own level of sensitivity and can report it themselves if they wish to.

Obviously MMORPG.com can't post a complete list of words or phrases that are considered offensive and disallowed, but some common sense consistency would be nice, and mods should identify themselves when deleting and locking threads and sanctioning posters for violations. This would help identify patterns of mods who have an agenda.  A professional does not need to hide their actions.

Well this is for the moderators, not for the public.

I didn't get any attached file, just an e-mail from mailer@mmorpg.com.  And I did write the admin.

You were once a MOD...you know what to do. Email any MOD if you have a problem. Don't "call them out" in public otherwise it'll just make you look very bad.

    Just pm any mod...
