Now imagine the sides are even, which they never are. 500 for German, 250 for French and 250 for Brit. That's because the Brits and French never spawn from the same town. Now, let's say 150 from each country want to fly, to bomb RDP and camp AFs and AB/FBs . That's 350 German ground troops vs 100 Brit and 100 French. The side with the most troops available will have more Attack Objectives, which can get pulled at the worst times. So Germany, or whoever has the most troops, posts 3 AOs, 1 North for the Brits and 2 south for the French, (who also happen to be the least popular and numerous until they RDP the Stuart and Sherman). The Allied HC can, and has in the past, place all of their AOs North or South. Or they can try and divide them "fairly". It can lead to alot of frustration. You should begin to see where this is going... For the most part it seems the majority of the Allies play Brit. And a large portion of them fly. A large portion of the French also fly, primarily because of the DB7 bomber. This tends to leave the ground forces a bit thin. Off hours, or "Breakfast Club" times it's terrible. You can either be camped because you have less than a dozen Defenders in town, while your enemy might have 50-60 available. Or you can attack what seem to be ghost towns, because there aren't enough defenders to protect all towns with AOs. Or worse. You might have 0 HC available. This means you can only Defend. One thing of note, these boards have a couple of serious wiiol haters. If you look at the critical comments they are almost all coming from the same few people. Most of them got banned from the game/community forums for starting stuff. There are free trials often, and you can download the game client for free and try it off line any time you wish. Go play it for yourself and see if you like it. Its a complex game and not all people find it enjoyable due to the amount of crap you have to learn and the fact that there can be periods of down time when moving equipment or before a serious attack/defense gets underway. As well as alot of frustration because you spend literally hours driving tanks to a frontline town, just to watch some idiot drive off in it solo. Same with the inf who can't seem to be bothered with actually guarding their allies or their property. They all want to be rambo and teleport off as soon as possible. But yes, give it a try. If you like Quake or flying, you'll probably like it. If you're a historian or Grognard type, I highly recommend you avoid this game like the plague. It will save you a lot of frustration. Oh, and the forums are HIGHLY moderated now, as well as locked to outsiders. So be careful what you say there. My husband and I have been emailed and pm'd by many of our friends recently because they got banned for either telling the truth, or venting to the small forum community. It's certainly not the game CRS promised, though. Many of us who became Builders wish that CRS offered a money back guarantee.

Ignore the troll, the game is very fun. Elfvyra isn't and never was a builder, he is lieing solely to turn people off of the game. The game is very much a simulation but it is not a historical recreation. It's a WWII Simulation of what could happen when people today decide to fight the war. It isn't perfect but you'll find youself having a lot of fun and meeting a lot of nice people if you sign up. The forums are moderated to prevent trolling but there is still plenty of constructive critism allowed and even some inappropriate things aren't censored depending on how blatantly hateful people are. The grumpy people are a minority and it takes a huge effort to get banned from the game. You either have to hack and get cuaght to get banned or you have to post blatantly offensive images on the forums or personally attack others consistently, you have to violate the terms of service.
I'm going to go flying tonight when my friend gets on feel free to sign up and join us. My name in-game is PnHobbit! Axis all the way!
More people playing BF1942? On one server or as a whole? And if its as a whole, really who cares, you can't play with everyone at once as a whole they are all on various servers with a maximum number of players that is less then alot of battles in ww2ol see every night.
A couple nights ago when I played, I saw more people on my mission storming a town then you can have on one side of an equally balanced game server of BF, and thats one mission of many going in to the battle, on one side of the confrontation. There were airplanes above I could not see on map, a tank column which rolled in on another mission from another town, and atleast 3-4 other mobile spawn points likely with similiar numbers (ie: between 15-30 participants on a mission.) Over all the numbers on the battles I've been in are more then you could have on one BF server by a long shot, and thats one battle along a very large front which can have alot of different actions going on, from defenses, to attacks, resupplying movements, etc... So I really don't agree with you view of their being more players in a BF game.
Umm Elf, I really don't see what his stats, or even the fact that alot of players with the name starting with pn who don't play anymore has anything to do with the merit of his message.
I agree with what he's saying and I've been playing this game since the first month. Go ahead and have a look if you care, cuz I really don't, its simply a weak and superficial arguement to point at someones abilities in the game and claim that they have no right to post what they feel about it as a result, its not like he is discussing tactics here.
Game name: Dair
Fancy that I just checked and their all over 1.0 KD, thats not really that good for me but I don't get a chance to play as much as I used to and I really don't care about stats that much aside from the air side of things. Back in the day when I had alot more free time I used to log in everyday to play, and my stats more then likely reflected that accordingly.
Now I'm a 4 year player and I don't currently boast any miraculous stats.... perhaps thats because its a tough game and sometimes you just die more then you'd like. I was running a 6.0+ KD in the Airforce at one point in the campaign but then things got hotter and we ran into stiff opposition from organized flights of Luftwaffe as we neared their factories, and as a result I took alot more losses in battle, there is nothing magical going on there, its as simple as entering the triad of enemy AF's and going from a situation where you generally have a numerical advantage to one where the enemy is putting up stern opposition and has increasingly faster turn around times as you get closer to their remaining AF's and further from you own.
You see the thing is, stats only tell part of the story, if you really want to know his you'd have to get in there and pound the ground with him or fly his wing because you have no idea what he was facing on those fights. A good example is a rifleman setup in a defensive position when a big attack is coming in is more likely to see a positive KD from his fights, then the guys who are attacking and have to move up and are generally under sustained fire from the enemy the whole time doing it, and are likely to be shot while capturing a depot or some such. Its not uncommon to lose 3 times the numbers of men on an attack as you would in defense, or perhaps he was on defense, but their numbers were low and he was fighting in badly camped towns where your lifespan is short and your chance of finding a defensible position is limited.
So as you can see, Its never quite as black and white as you appear to make it seem. But hey, who am I to know anything, I've only been playing the game for 4 coming on 5 years now.
Sorry, but you must have not read my whole message. Try again. Look for "(or any other combo of letters or names)". Try it. Put in any name or even just a letter or 2 and you'll see what I mean. I used pnhobbit as an example to show any of the readers who wished to learn how to use the CSRs.
But as I said, try a name. You'll have to look long and hard to find more than a few active names among any of the 20 you pull up. As far as his right to post? I don't believe I said he had no rights to anything. I merely stated some of my personal observations and suggested that the reader make up their own minds on what, and whom, to believe....
You said you were a builder, it is obvious you aren't and never were. You can't tell the truth about that and it is obvious nothing else you say is true.
Duplicate names or trial accounts from old members using promotions can account for many of the unused names. Fact is plenty of people play, but you wouldn't know because you don't and haven't played the game in a long long time.
Here is a picture from a paradrop last night, this one just one. We had 43 people involved.
Go troll somewhere else, it is obvious you have no idea what you are talking about.
My stats are because I have a life and I have priorities before games, that is none of your business. I have fun when I play and my time is limited, and that's all that matters.
What a nice picture. It's too bad that's a rarity, not the norm. But then again, you'd know that if you played more. Now, here's some words from one of WWIIOL's once bigger Squads....
"World War II Online started it all. Sturmgrenadier was formed in anticipation of CRS' World War II Online and grew into a magnificent beast of an operation, topping out with well over 600 members at one time, and having coordinated command and control that single-handedly and cooperatively took large swath's of the French landscape.
Sturmgrenadier ran long and hard for a number of years, but as time moved on, the game changed. CRS began an exodus from the "independent" squad-based gameplay that earned them so many fans and members and moved into a new territory, one that pushed aside the great squads of old (KGW, SG, and others) and placed command and control into the hands of a few. We were not immune to the bleeding of members, disenchanted with the game, experienced by all the major squads.
The game continues on, but it's a new environment that's, quite frankly, completely different from the exciting days of old. Sturmgrenadier has elected to gracefully withdraw official support for World War II Online as an SG Portal. While we are still accepting applications should WWIIOL experience a rebirth, for the time being, the Command Staff has been trimmed back and operations are at a lessened tempo.
World War II Online will always hold a special meaning to SG and will always have some sort of presence at SG, but time moves on and our membership has moved into other games, both here in SG and elsewhere.
S!"
I really wish SG were the only ones to go away, but they arent. But hey, it's your story. You go ahead and tell it any way you want.
A rarity? I went on four paradrops that size in a SINGLE night. I was also involved in a naval bombardment and attach on Verres. One squad's decision doesn't reflect everyone as you don't seem eager to post about all the people joining the game. The squad I'm in saw 3 people recruited just last night and more are joining every day. The game is seeing a lot of new people and a lot of them are staying.
No point to bother. Elfvera is just trolling. She don't care about how it really is.
I didn't even notice that SG left the game when they did. It was years since I saw them the last time but I saw no difference in the server populations. Last time I heard from them where they considered to come back. No matter what is it no big deal if they do or don't if you asks me. There is lots of other squads that muster more players to WWII Online then SG do, and they still playing and never have consider to stop.
What I have noticed lately is the big steady stream of green-tags (new players) is constantly added to the game. And it is not due to any Free-trails since they are rare.
A fantastic way to enjoy this game is to get into a squad of Consitant gamers. Im a member of the 31st wrecking crew and have been since release. Although im not personally ingame anymore Im constantly battling myself from getting back in (personal reasons for leaving, nothing bad against the game I luvs it so)
check out some of the big squads and don't be afraid of being new and you'll fall in love with the game as most of the players do.
On thing I've found though, you really have to get used to devs, looking into the "foliage problems" Way to often. when ever they add a medic class I wont be able to keep myself from playing
www.31stwc.com - check em out if your into the Axis squads
Originally posted by Nerf09 This game is completely dead. There are about 50 players left, total, enough to squeeze onto one BF2 server.
never read such a stupid post before sorry, if you think BE has only 50 players left, so we as 7.ID are alone on the server. by the way we alone as small/middle squad have rd. 40 active members. and 90% are real Germans damig who takes all the towns back in US, Asia TZ ??
regards and sorry if you don't like the game, but i and rd. 49 others do

Nobody should really play this game..
Pick up a copy of Battlefield 1942, it has more weapons, better graphics, and more people playing it
