I played DAOC on release... Got to mid 40's with an Albion armsmen... I stopped cause all I did was go to barrows and camp a room with a partner... I also couldnt solo at all, maybe its cause I sucked or maybe my class...
I bought wow and was adicted to it, but the end game is like a one time thing.. YOu beat MC, you try BWL then you get bored... The PvP isnt that great in WoW, its fun ut not lasting...
Im looking for a game that has GOOD PvE, treasure hunting, unique items, like Diablo II, except MMO, soloable, but has raid content.... (PvP comes last for me, ide rather really good PvE)
Is this a good game for my playstyle or what?
Key Points of My interest:
-PvE
-Soloability
-Non-Grind
-Nice loot system (Treasure hunting solo, killing bosses, ect ect)
-POPULATION (Im hearing theres like no one ever on and I wont be suprised cause WOW took everyone... I tried a few MMOs I used to play and they were ghost towns... AND Seeing as this is 3 realms against each other, you neeed at least 1000 per side to even be fun...)

You might be able to get what you want from DAOC, it just depends on the realm/class you play.
There is a huge amount of PvE content. It just depends on what you want to do and what you consider griding. Ok assuming you have all of the expansions then you will have access to the following:
1. Quests from the original game and first expansion. These quests are not that good, but can give you good money and ok loot for your level.
2. Catacombs quests are awsome for leveling. They are easy to do with almost all being able to solo. Not really for loot or money, but the best way to XP.
3. There are many spots you camp for XP. There are also instanced and task dungeons. While the "task" may vary on what your goal is, basically it is a dungeon where you start at one point and fight to the end. There are no repops so that is nice. Instanced dungeons give aurulite which can be used for some nice items, task dungeons give you a nice XP reward for finishing whatever your task is. So yes you are still killing mobs over and over, but the camp bonus doesn't go down, no repops, and a nice XP bonus make this the most popular choice to getting XP from killing.
4. ToA always seems to have some Raid going on for something. The Clasic servers will have Epic dungeon raids, dragon raids, and Darkspire raids.
5. New Epic Quests for armor with updated armor. These are pretty much soloable. Maybe at the end you might need a group at most. I haven't finished mine.
6. If you get the next expansion Darkness Rising it has awsome quests. Further, outside of a few steps it is all soloable. You get a nifty weapon too. The weapons I think look too anime for me (not that I do not like anime, but it just doesn't fit the style) but the stats are really nice. And when it launches horses will finally be available to own.
7. One free level a week if you have earned 1 level aready during the time (of course you can decline this).
8. Items: there are quest items, random generated loot (so in a way unique), player made items (so whatever you want on it), artifacts, rare droped loot, and champion weapons about to come out.
So given you list I would say that DAOC is what you are looking for, but ONLY if you have the Catacombs expansion. Which by the way the new "Epic" edition with everything comes out is like a week I think from what I have seen posted from game stores. Without Catacombs you will find it more of a grind.
The population? Depends on when you play. The original servers are in clusters. This means we can teleport to the other severs and that RvR areas are shared. So is usually a lot of RvR action out there. The land mass is huge, so it will appear empty, not to mention the PvE areas are for the most part divided up. So 2500 for RvR available, but maybe only 400 in your realm/server. That is why you can teleport. It can make it hard to find group pre 20.
If you play on the classic servers - they will not have ToA. They usually have a population of 2500 or so around peak hours. I have seen it go below 800 at off hours, but those are usually times when an entire cluster will have 400 on them. Much easier to find groups there and I doubt if you play at peak hours you will feel alone.
So if you got the game and spent you time in Catacombs areas doing quests you will probably find it a more enjoyable experience than before. I am not sure when you played last, but the amount of time to level has been decreased a lot. My first level 50 took over 50 days in game played time, if I really wanted to I could do it in 5 now. My average is around 8-9 days because I do not grind and spend time out in the BG having fun.
I am not sure this is the game for you, but if you have the money to actually buy the game and get catacombs that would be the best way to find out. I am not sure you will like the PvE as much as WoW, but maybe everything taken together will make the game a better fit for you.
