Is the game good? Or bad?

I wonder if GW is like a roleplaying game or just a pvp game? I have heard that it's more of pvp game and exploring on your own is boring or worthless? Wich game should I buy? I wo'nt buy a game you have to pay for each month...so i guess this is the game? But I hate to get disapointed........image..........

It's a PvP game with roleplaying elements.  Exploring on your own can get boring, and you have to get henchmen, period, or you will die, again, and again, and again(except at the beginning).  You have to party with people.  I thought the PvP was awesome, but if your looking for a WoW style PvE, This isn't for you.  In PvE, you get these instanced areas, and the only place you can meet people is in town.  It all depends what you want to sacrifice for the sake of no monthly.  All in all, I liked it, but there are better, but you have to pay.

The RPG part is like playing Diablo 2, but upgraded to reflect this decade. The PvP, is PvP.

You can't rely on the RPG elements to keep you interested in the game. Their are much better single player RPG games out there, then Guild Wars. If you just play the game through once, and toss it away... You could prob get 20-30hr out of the game. Though it could be done in much less. That is about the sames as most console RPG games.

If you find you enjoy the PvP, GWs could keep you interested for months... since they tweak skiils every so often, the game balance is always changing and encouraging new builds.

Any game could be good or bad, everything is based on personal preferences. The exploring is fun, most MMOs have citys and everything already mapped out this you have to explore literally, to unfog everything, its not that hard if you go with the missions.

Honestly, GW is more for PvP than any other element. The only reason for PvE to even be done IMO in mass amounts would be to unlock skills for PvP which you don't even need to do anymore with the faction system. If you want to role play GW is not the game for you. If you liked Starcraft, I would recommend guild wars. For some reason i always seem to find similarities between the two games. You can make a diverse number of builds and the game is constantly being balanced. The PvP has many elements of strategy and takes a lot of though as well as skill and coordination to make your team win. If you like to PvP and strategize and win because you have superior skill(not level or attributes) and strategy then this would be a game that i would definitely recommend. If you want to PvE there is still some you can do, but there is not much of an extreme amount of content. THe first time around the PvE is very fun and challenging, and helps you get oriented with the game, but the PvP is really where all the fun is imo.
