I love this game,its very complete with lots of stuff to do.

this is a good game for people that like complex games with lots of stuff,this isnt for kids or stupid a*** f*** that play WoW and say its the best game out there...is that a joke ??? wow sucks so bad... its so simple and ugly graphics........

 

if u want a game that makes u think ... try EQ2 u wont regret it

alright, its fine if you like the game, but please god do us all a favor and don't diss WoW while praising EQ2. we have too many flame threads as it is

Yes please no more flame threads...i'm sick of fighting lol.

On a side note, I liked WoW when i played it...just got old after a few months. Not a bad game, but as a person that's played MMOs for about a decade, I expect more from a game.

Agree, because lots of WoW players read EQ2 boards along with every other board just  like i do. And they will post there flames when they see their game being bashed.

This game does rule, but WoW is lots of fun too. I got bored by level 55 but it lasted me 5 months and it was PURE fun till I got bored.

EQ2 has lots of quests and kewl named mobs that are really tough and the community is by and large really helpful. I play on a RP server though so I think all games RP communities are just a bit more civil than the average server.

pirrg, because i KNOW that was sarcasm, i want to know something. what about our two posts were immature? i didnt bash him or anything, im just sick of seeing these threads turning into wow vs. eq2 flamefests.

I used to play EQ2 months ago, I quit in Febuary, I've been playing WoW ever since. I have a 60 warrior and a 60 Warlock and various other 20-30ish toons. I loaded up EQ2 this past weekend for the first time since Febuary and I got hooked again. I've discovered I actually miss having to put forth effort to accomplish something. Don't get me wrong, WoW has it's place too. PvP is fun and the battlegrounds are kickass! I don't see EQ2 ever being responsive enough for real good PvP. That's not why I like it. I love the mirade of quests and the community. Why I play both, when I want PVP I go on WoW, when I want interesting quests and community interaction I play EQ2. .

Not sure but i'm guessing your rather new to the game.I played it for a year and after all the good ideas/stuff they do in the game,i quit for two major reasons.

1 all the quantity in the game is just that,quantity no quality.Meshes are reused at a staggering amount,everything looks the same.the outdoor areas are pretty good,they deffinately outweigh the dungeons by a mile.Special events are well a joke.

2 they have tried to make the game user friendly to solo/small party,however  any loot that is worth anything is still only attainable by either guilding or raiding[both].Unless you plan on doing writs[waste of time]guilding serves no purpose.99.9% of the players join guilds ONLY to get help,pretty sad really.

Oh and a little side note.Sony caters the game to all the players who hit level 50 and just wanna RAID.Now they have stooped so low as to make XP very easy to get to level 50,because they want you to buy the expansion pack wich is catered to level 50 again.If there game content was worth anything from 1-50 then players would replay using a different character,as it is the MAJORITY dont bother,unless they can't find anyone online to party with ,then maybe they will flirt with anther character.

If I was thinking about buying this game, this post definitely turned me off.  Is it typical to have players like this in EQ2?  If you are going to advocate something, please have some tack and purpose to your posts.

The comparison to WOW was well thought out by the OP.  It's just not a bright post.

Yeah. I agree. However, it has tamed down 900% since last summer/winter. Virtually every other psot on EQ2/WoW/ and the main discussion boards were flooded with trolls.

It's a lot more tamed now...believe it or not

Well, its gaining speed again after the expansion. There was a few weeks before the expansion where this forum actually where constructive

well, the board isnt really running wild with (generally) a whole bunch of little trolls, just a few very active uber-trolls (im not going to mention any specific names, but i can think of at least 3). generally theyre the people who seem to have an emotional grudge against the game, and any time something big happens in the game they flock to the boards.
