    I wouldn't mind an X1800 XT.  I doubt I'll get it, though.  My parents will probably just give me more money like they seem to have been doing all this year for holidays.

    Estimated total spent on friends/Girlfriend - $2,400+.

      I hate to think about Christmas because it was always a profitable time of the year for me when I was a kid. Now it runs me broke. Now there is the religous side of Christmas but I dont want to anger the athiest. They can get a bit testy at times.

    Nothing. As atheists, my girlfriend and I don't observe any religous festivals. A number of devout Christians that I know also seem to reject Christmas for some reason. Maybe they feel angry about the commercial side of it, or perhaps they're aware of the pagan origins of the festival and feel it is inappropriate.

    • A PCIe lush vid card
    • a nice fast 200+ gig drive
    • a 19" 4ms LCD

    Havent really looked into the Xbox 360 lately, but if i can find a few appealing games then i guess itll go on my list!

    Other than that money will be great ::::01::

    my girlfriend is organizing a group to buy me a new set of clothes.....

    i hate buying, getting, or worrying about clothes.

    but apparently having about 3 pairs of pants without holes in them is slightly inappropiate.....

    other then that im gonna buy my friends some knives(for decorative purposes),my siblings some ratehr expensive apparel, and my girlfirend i have no fucking clue.

    Girfriends is a tough one....not becuase they are girls, but in truth . . . well ehhh You don't want to get a girl somthing really expensive when later in the future they dump you or somthing...

    ya but i feel like a dog with ribbons being put in its hair, when she is talking about organizing a plot to change my whole grundge outfit........

    i dont know what she wants to change it to.... god forbid anything pop, emo, country, or from walmart<shudders>.

    if i had my way their would be no commercialism in christmas in fact it and easter are my least favorite holidays.

    And thanks to competition Nvidia is soon to replace it's NV 40 GF6800 (6800 & ultra no longer produced) with the (not based on new technology [i.e. G70 GF7800]) GF 6800 GS 256MB.

    At $210 to $250 this is a decent mid level gpu (nv42 core) 110nm process, 12 pixel pipelines, 5 vertex, 425MHz core/500MHz gddr3 memory, 256-bit memory interface; shader model 3, FP16 HDR, SLI connector on top of card (but no support for transparency antialiasing.)
    202 million transistors, 32GB/s bandwidth, 5.1G texels/s, 531 million triangles/s, 70 Watt. External power through 6 pin pci-express power cable.
    One DVI and VGA port, TV-out and hdtv out support.

    The GF6800 GS is intended to outperform the (RV530 core) X1600 xt in 1280 x 1024 res, no AA (antialiasing) in high quality mode. (Painful performance in 1600x1200 with no AA or 1280x1024 with 4XAA.) But in sli a GS pair at 1600x1200 with 2XAA is playable.

    Somewhat improved performance 1024x768 no AA in multiplayer display. SLI the sweet spot is 1280x1024 2x/4xAA.

    Since the 'War Department' (aka my wife) wanted me to wait for Christmas to get these, I'm hoping for the following:
    1. Star Wars: Episode 3
    2. Star Wars Battlefront 2

    I may treat myself to another round of Eve Online or some other MMO during the holidays.
