What i love about WOW

Is the high quality of the game! Now i don't play WOW anymore and it's never really been a great game to me but you can't deny it's the most polished mmo out there!

My time in playing it i had no problems other than server queues and crap customer service! The actual game is perfect! Everything feels like the game was built to fit it and balance is not an issue like say in all SOE rush job games!

  • Every class is balanced well (abit off here and there but on the most part perfect) - People complain about overpowered classes but thats because they can't play their class! Any class can own in the right hands.
  • Very few bugs that the average user would notice!
  • Graphics are stylish
  • Sound is sound
  • Has a massive community so population isn't an issue!
  • PVP is fun and probally the best i've played out of any game! Feels like the game was built for it and not PVE.

If only Blizzard made SWG or PS or EQ, seems like they don't rush to put the game out like SOE!

With SOE they just make an expansion and rush it ruining the game just to make money on sales.

I agree that SOE basically ruined EQ2 but I think Blizzard shouldn't make any more MMOs that are as dumbed down as WoW is.

Your comment about SOE rushing games for money is accurate however Blizzard is obviously in it completely for the money by targeting the largest audience with such a casual, solo friendly game that has very little depth game play wise and a mostly bad community.

Also,  WoW probably has the WORST retention rate of any MMO.  Meaning the subscrictions don't last long cause people get bored and quit.

I agree WoW has the best graphic of any game ever released (even though that will change when the elder scrolls IV: oblivion comes out) but after a while it started losing its taste. very. It gets worse and worse.
and that is all I have to say.

Not sure where you have been the last couple of years but there are many games with better graphics than WoW! They have developed a distinctive style, but in no way is it the best, even for MMORPG standards.

wow is a great game.but way too easy and your very wrong class balance has been off all along.there just starting too get it balanced now.also they have been all about selling the game world wide, over adding content and keeping there player base.and that = short game.but i still agree very good gameimage

I suppose you're right (what was I thinking?), but when the xbox 360 comes out, it will be like VR without a helmet.

I play both World of Warcraft and Everquest II.  They are both great mmorpgs in my opinion.  I prefer a more hardcore mmorpg, so Everquest and EQ2 have been my favorites, but I cant argue that WoW is really such a polished, complete, and excellent mmorpg.  It is no surprise to see all the millions of players subscribed to WoW, it is well made, easy to learn and play, and runs great.

Everquest II is a dumbed down version of Everquest, I think, but still has a lot more to it that World of Warcraft.  It is more difficult, it really takes the community and makes it important, as grouping is more a focus in EQ2.  I can go on about both games, I really can't say too much about their negatives (although I know that they both have some).

What is comes down to is what a player prefers.  I spend more time playing EQ2 because as I'v mentioned, it is more to my playstyle.  But WoW is just so easy to get into and so much fun.  I don't need a group to complete content.  On the other hand, I don't see the community in WoW being as mature and as fitting for me as the one in EQ2.  They are both so different, but I am glad to be playing them both.

Not saying it's too easy, not saying i like it and i'm not saying how well the gameplay stacks up to to other games.

I'm saying the game is well Polished :)

Plus the class balance is amazing, i've played every single class out there and whiles it's abit off here and there on the most part it's perfect!

Druids are seen as secondary healers, amazing at PVE tho! Also watch Rubix videos and see how they can own :)

Paladins have to be taken down like 3 times b4 they are dead, they have great heals and their shield! If they have more DPs it would be unfair!

Shaman are not overpowered : People just dont know how to play their class!

Finally Shadow priests own in PVP but most people hate them because they shud be healing

Well polished; yes, Balanced; no not even close.

Hunter + alchemy = unstoppable in PVP, especially with the new beast spec where you can make your pet virtually unfearable. I play a hunter trust me, they took our class from being powerful to outright ugly.

As far as SoE rush jobs, I semi agree. EQ2 rushed..without doubt. However remember wow more accuratly compare's to EQ on graphic's and gameplay style. EQ in a sense was rushed, but remember it was the first of its style. Of course all sucessor's *IF they try* will appear to be more polished, and less rushed they had a template to worth with.

Graphics are ok..Art is excellent..I do not particularly care for it and wish they had the option to increase the detail for those of us with higher end machine's, but that is a trivial complaint.

I do not find the PVP fun on any level..Its mindless, requires no skill and I can pretty much play another game while doing it. It gives no rush of excitement because even if I lose..I lose nothing. As such I rarly play anymore since the PVE game leave's alot to be desired.

WoW is a good game, It just was designed more for the casual player. This is not my style of game, it is good there is a game for the casual player's. I wish they would come out with a better PVP game for those of us who liked UO style PVP. My only real complaint is WoW and EQ type PVPer's running around acting like they have so much skill, when in reality most of them would get clobbered in a game that was not based around level/gear. I emphasize Most, not all.

I agree. That is why I play it ::::02::

    My points:

*Stylized and cool graphics. Landscapes feel more natural than in other games, even if it's a comic style. Seamless terrain <- simply a must.
*Polish and even more Polish. There isn't a single mmo out there currently that has the same production values. Maybe EQ2, but EQ2 doesn't have any love in it. EQ2 just feels like money. The games is almost bug free. Biggest issue has been server stability at times. But it depends on what realm you play(ed) on.
*Fun. 1-60 is a blast. Slows down after 60.
*Balanced. Many complain but the balancing is pretty well done. Some classes are a little overpowered but nothing critical. No class is godlike. Blizzard is reworking most talent trees right now. Hunter is done. Druid next patch. After that Paladin will follow.

I don't understand why so many complain about Wow. It has made the mmo genre mainstream. Almost atleast. I don't think Eve would have made the 16k record without Wow. Wow introduced many to the genre and when they quit Wow they move on to other games. So the games that aren't in direct competition with Wow have benefited on Wow. While those who are have suffered. EQ2 and Sony's attempts to make it more like Wow every patch is a good example.

Just to clear 1 thing up:

SOE did NOT make EverQuest 1. Verrant did... And at the time in the Industry, there was no basis of comparison for that style of game. There was UO and EQ... AC came out shortly afterwards and then DAoC. But it's unfair to blame EQ1 for anything... it was really a first of it's kind.

Now go ahead and flame EQ2's rushed out the door. Cause that was kinda disapointing.
On the good side, at least it's crafting system was better then WoWs.

You are correct, I should have specified that in my post as well.
