I need help deciding between Everquest 2 or Neocron 2

Everquest 2 or Neocron 2. Now I'm a busy college student, and I only have time for games on the weekends occasionally or if I'm sick. The 2 games are completely different genres. I'm not going to pay for both. I just need something to relax my mind and chill back along with partying and hanging out with friends. Something that will pass the time alone.

Now I've already started the free month for Neocron 2, and I love it. I have until the 19th for when I have to start paying monthly. I also started the free trial for Everquest 2, and it runs great on my laptop. I also love it. All I have to do is reactivate Everquest 2. I have played both games at their release. I just can't decided which to one to choose. And that is why I need all of you gamer's help in this decision.

Bottom Line: I bought both games at release, canceled at some point. Bought Neocron 2 and using the free month. I could cancel Neocron 2 so no payment would be made and reactivate Everquest 2. I have until the 19th to decide.

I like both of the games atmosphere. Tough call.

It sounds like you already made up your mind about necron 2 so go with that.  EQ2 isnt that great unless you like pretty graphics

go with neocron 2. It'll help on the conscience. Playing a game from SOE feels like shopping at wal-mart, just unethical.

Well I found the link to download the Everquest 2 client, and it turns out SOE gave returning players free 7 days. So for both games I have until the 19th before I decided which one I want to pay for.

Both Neocron 2 and Everquest 2 are really good games but I prefer Everquest 2! It is a very nice game for me..But it's all up to you of what you really want! GoodLuck!

  I would have to say Neocron 2. Everquest 2 has great graphics but so does my screensaver.

I played NC1 for a couple of months. I liked the game esp. the combat, but the game world at the time was tiny. Presumably NC2 adds the long-promised Dome of York and a bit more space, but I wouldn't consider going back to it. I just dont think it will have much of a future. EQ2 is a much better bet, imo.

Frankly I wouldn't play either of them if I were you, but if you are absolutely limiting yourself to those two then I'd have to say EQ2, purely because it is the least worst of the two. I personally would say that Neocron 2 is not a patch on Neocron 1 and is unfortunately just too dead now to be worth paying money to play.

With the changes to EQ2 since patch #13 i'd strongly recommend it. I personally have come back to EQ2 since the changes and am really enjoying the game now.

i might be slightly biased as a NC player, as I would have to say NC. But the choices are very different. NC if you like pvp and the atmosphere, EQ if you like carebear fantasy grinding games (not meant as an insult, some do)

  The Trial of Isles in EQ2 is a blast for sure. It goes down hill from there rather quickly though.

The environments and immersion in EQ2 seem nice, but the gritty atmosphere of Neocron 2 is immersive too.

Neocron 2 will die a lot sooner, so if you plan on staying with a game EQ2 would be better.
that aside if you do quit, your EQ2 account would sell for decent money.

it is the most buggy, piece of shit game ever made

the developers spend more time making new art and models, than fixing bugs or balance issues

oh and their staff for support and forums are run by some gestapo like people who will do anything to silence or demean something thats said negatively about their game.

let's not forget that this is the game whos own staff refer to journalists as "pussies" after they give the game a low score in their computer gaming magazines

That was beacuse the person that did the review was a pussy. From my name you can proly tell what game I would sugest playing, and I truely don't see NC2 dieing very soon at all. If you like to pvp, then NC2 is the way to go for sure, but if you really want to pvm all day, then go for EQ2.
