No idea where you could have "learned" DAoC is not on servers anymore but I think its pretty safe to say you are wrong.
I would advise against Ryzom. I really dont think its what you are looking for. Its a "skill system" game. It just has a few broad class and you make what you want from that by using different skills.
Why not just go for World of Warcraft or Guild Wars? Both offer a good selection of what you are asking for and they are solid games that are great for new players.

I mean exactly what I said. Loew344 said that the classic client has low requirements. This is true. I said it can not connect to the servers anymore. This is also true. The classic client is no longer supported. Very few people used it, but it still required updates, to be usable. So they stopped updating it, and made the SI client free, and downloadable. SI is now the "base" client, only those with the expansion, get the new areas/races/classes. I made no mention of any client, other then the classic cliant.

Now, as for your weak, and easily deflected flame, I have but one comment : Reading comprehension is good.

Ultima Online has the most classes no doubt, you're free to mix whatever skills you want to come up with your own class, want a begging fisherman? no problem, a lumberjacking archer? its possible, a tamer that can fight with swords? sure! Maybe a magician that can tailor clothes? works fine. Theres countless of options when it comes to classes. UO for the win ::::28::

That's not a class, that's a build just like any other game. A class is a core concept, you either have it or don't.

I play DAOC pretty smoothly on a 766celeron  256mb sd ram and a 64 mb pci (not pciexpress) nvidia. How are you having trouble on wow and guild wars? Your system is easily double mine. Do you keep your system clean and free of spyware and extra programs running in the background that dont need to be? How high do you have the graphics turned up on those games? I keep all my settings low for the higher f p s.

DAOC has a ton of classes --a ton of interesting Weird classes.

Here are a couple interesting classes right off the top of my head. Hibgard has a class called a animist. Animist have Big mushrooms for pets. The shrrooms are like turrets that will attack everything in a certain area.

Mid has two very unique classes. One class is called a Bonedancer. Bonedancers are casters that have skeleton pets. You can have three pets out at once. Two of those pets will heal you and one will attack with you.

The other very interesting midgard class is called a Warlock. Warlocks have three sets of chambers for there spells. Each chamber is a instant cast of multiple spells. So you can line up a damage spell with a debuff effect and a root.

Albion has a caster called a Theurgist. The theurgist casts his pets from really far range. I say cast because they are temporary pets and they chase after the target. There are air pets that stun, Ice pets that cast damage and earth pets that look like little mudmen that run REALLY fast at the target and beat on him.

To add to those classes there are classes that can charm mobs and use them for pvp. There are the typical archer classes that can stealth and rogue classes that can stealth as well.

    Got you interested yet?

I have fond memories of DAoC. I had a Mid Troll Warrior and I must say it was THE best TANK class of any MMORPG I've played. RvR was great fun with him also. I had an ability that got me unrooted and unmezzed (I forgot the name) so it kept me alive a bit longer. I played a Mid Hunter also. That was a blast mainly because it was the red-headed step child class in the game. Probably the most under-powered RvR class at the time (did they ever give Hunters any love, its been about a year and a half since I played?) but he had STEALTH. When you got lucky and took down an equal level warrior type and got away, you felt "bad"!image

i'm not sure why i lag so much on GW and WoW, i dont know waht you mean by "keep my system clean" i dont do any sort of maintenance on it, dont know how. and i'm sure i have lots of spyware cuz idk how to get rid of it. if you could tell me what to do that would be great, oh and i run min graphics on both WoW and GW. i'm dying to get back to WoW so if you could give me some advice i'd be greatly appreciative.
