    I think ranks should accualy mean something. I just registred a couple of months ago and already am a suposed "hardcore member". And i probbly have less than 30 posts. I dunno just seems kinda pointless

    Ranks are based only very smally on posts. Your total time spent on the site, and general worth of your posts is what gives you your rank here. It is not merely a post counter.

    Hrm, well looking through the site i still dont see how it really works. I see some people with over a hundred posts and been here for a year, and they only have 2-3 stars, just seems kinda odd

    Murt, you act like a total brat that cannot get his way.  You've been bragging about how you "reformed" and don't care about post counts anymore- but now that they've removed it you want to whine and complain.  Yes I'm flamin' you, because this post was not necessary.  You're taking something that is truelly good and crappin' on it.  I hope they delete your stupid post lowering ypur rank even more.

    I dont think the system matters either way really, it never bothers me how much someone has posted as that doesnt say anything...it could all be spam image the content of each post is whats important. Forums arent ment to be a game or a race its a way of getting and spreading information imo.

    Hey how about a system where instead of just five levels(the five gold stars) there are ten levels.  First you have 5 silver stars for the low 5 levels and 5 gold stars for the top levels.  Just a late idea to give you more work adminimage

    It sucks for me being that I can only get on this mug at limited times. I got on here so much from work that they banned the use of the internet for everyone. LOL I only hope that nobody finds out. Hehheh

    Well, you're not posting nearly as much. So, I guess it's working. How in the hell did I get 3 stars? Oh well, better luck next post.

    Ok, we are not going to tell you exactly how the ranking works...but I can tell you this:

    a) The rank is generated EVERY DAY at 2AM EST based on the previous 30 days of information

    b) Statistics from the forums are used to make up 60% of your score, all posts in the SPAM Forum are ignored, and any post that has to be deleted will DRASTICALLY effect your score.  If you have 10 deleted posts in the past 30 days you will go from 4 stars to 1.  Also, the number of posts is NOT considered in your score.

    c) 40% of your score is based solely on dedication...but with limits.  In other words, logging in every day helps your score...but logging in more than once does not.  There are other monitors like this in the site that track your visits and such, but each monitor only makes up a small part of the 40%...so there is no real way you can abuse the system to boost your score

    I hope that expains it better.  The system was not made to be just like every other site.  We are not trying to be like everyone else - if you can't tell we are trying to break out of the box with this site image It is intentional that a user can get stars in just a few days...but a user could not get 5 stars in less than about 20-25 days.

    Also because of this system, you can loose stars real quick once you have them.  So the stars are a great way to see if a person is active RECENTLY - not if they were once a uber member that has not even been here in a year...

    you ALMOST have 4.  If you hover over your stars it should tell you your rank score...59/100.  2 more points and you would be 4 stars...
