whats better, half life 2 or halo 2

i was just wondering which was better, halo 2 or half life 2.  I think half life 2 single player is much better but im not sure.  half life 2 multiplayer(half life 2 deathmatch) and the halo 2 on xbox live seem both pretty good but which is better, i need to decide which to get.  Which is better halo 2 or
half life 2.

Wait...why are you comparing a console FPS over a PC FPS...this might turn out to be a PC vs Console war. I never played any of the half life series before (I want to though). I got to pick Halo 2, but that patch the put in the game that overpowers weapons kinda killed it for me Xbox live wise. Not only that the motherboard of my dad xbox is fried. It's amazing how todays consoles can't last over 5 years but the old school ones can last for over a generation (except NES). My dad was thinking about getting a new xbox but i just told him lets go 50/50 on the Xbox360.

I think somthing like Half Life 2 vs Doom 3 would be better.

I wouldnt compare the two. Both are different than night and day. Half life 2 is technically in a whole other ballpark than Halo 2.

Plus you wouldn't want to ask me anyways. I find Halo 2 too overrated.

Bought my PS2 Feb of 05. Now I have to unplug it every 3 hours (if I ever do play it). Supposedly, they're recalling the cords but you know...I have a NES from 1988 that still works.

It shows you how much work really goes into these things. I swear I think they're design to not work after a few years...to get you to buy another

Isn't Half Life 2 the same way? When good games have a sequel...I think it's just that way. I have halo 2 but there is some things that really ticked me off. Epically that patch that overpowers weapons unrealistically in xbox live. You can be out with 2 shotgun shells. I guess they wanted fast gameplay, but it can be kind of unfair to certain type of players.

Yeah. I have 2 NES and they don't work, the one that might work on you, you got to stick a butter knife inside so it stays down and dose'nt shake. I guess your the lucky one. All my other systems work though. Yeah, I told my dad let's not get another xbox but get the 360.

I wonder how I will tell my kids (in the future) about games when I was growing up. Show them a copy of Resident Evil for PS1 and Street Fighter II for SEGA and they might be like "WTF! DAT IS WACK!". Ha ha ha.

yeah ..Halo 2 is also overrated. Certainly not the game everyone was expecting (since it took like 6 years to make)

It's still fun though

Yeah, Single Player is fun. Online is ok. I'd say it's good. I want to try this Half Life 2 everyone is talking about...but not on this computer.

you make a great point!  wow i was stupid (really).  i never thought about it that way.  they are very different.  i think i will start a new poll about doom 3 and half life 2 cause my friend thinks doom 3 is better and i think half life 2 is better.  So i think ill start a new poll.  sry everyone!!  dont respond to this one anymore.

I'm sorry but hype will always beat out actual gameplay. Half-Life 2 is indeed the better one. And no, it's not a console war it's just the truth. People like Halo series because they've never played anything else.

Also.. Doom 3 wasn't that great either. Scripted sequences.. whoop-de-doo.. I know they're demons from hell but their AI was atrocious. And yes, I beat Doom 3 and Half-Life 2.. and I don't plan on buying an xbox just to play Halo or Jade Empire when everything else on the system stinks. (sorry, it's just the truth)

Half-Life 2 was a great game but I thought it went by too fast to really get in depth with the story or features. This game felt like a showcause that touched the surface of alot of things like the movie Forrest Gump, and left the story for everyone to discuss in forums and everything else for mods.

Half-life 2's multiplayer quality depends on what you consider as the multiplayer part of the game. Half-life 2: Deathmatch alone won't beat Halo 2's multiplayer but if you count in CS: Source, DOD: Source, and the current and upcoming source mods, then yes, HL2 has great multiplayer.

  Doom 3 had phenomenal graphics and was kinda spooky but it didn't have vehicles. And the combat was confined to halls and rooms. The whole game had a claustrophobic feel to it.

   Halo's controls were tight and responsive. I loved the game but got tired of always fighting only Aliens in Alien enviroments. The Aliens in Halo, especially the grunts, were a bit goofy.

   To me "Killzone" is my ideal game. For starters it has urban combat. I love fighting in city streets one second and then fighting in a mall the next. Also it has just a pinch of Sc-fi to it. In other words you're not using fantastic weapons like in Doom. You're using weapons that are believeable. And the enviroments are gritty just like you would imagine an urban battlefield to be. It's a very believeable game.

   Also give the FPS "F.E.A.R." a try. The enemies in this game have some of the best AI out there. These guys actually try and outflank you if you sit still too long.
