DOOM: THE MOVIE - Are you going to see it?

My dad just came in my room and said to me "You want to go see DOOM Saturday?" I said, "sure.".
If you guys didn't know, my old man is a gamer and love FPS games. Off the top of my head, his favorites is: DOOM, DUKE NUKEM, HALO, WOLFENSTIEN, QUAKE, and UNREAL CHAMPIONSHIP. So you should know off the bat why he wants to see this movie.
I don't know how it's going to be, but hey, when I come back I will give it my ratings. First of all, are you guys going to see this movie?
I should really try out this CS. My dad might like it too.

the answer be no for me. i have never been a first person shooter type player so never got into doom and the others. this so ruins the rock no in my eyes was showing some good range in his acting then this arg.

The Doom games, Doom 3 especially, all focus on scaring the shit out of you. I saw the Doom Movie trailer and it looked more like a "bad boy" action movie than a horror one. But even if it's not going to be spooky, it might still end up as a good movie as the genre it is.. so I'll just wait for the ratings.
I'll wait for a good DVD rip.

I don't know the wisdom behind this, but I usually go to see every "video game movie" there is in the theater, just to promote my kind.
...and this one doesn't look too bad either

I'm with everyone else in that I'll probaly pass this movie. I've been a big Doom fan since the day I got a hold of the Doom shareware back in the early 90's. But the trailer to this movie didnt have the feel or look of the Doom games. Just like someone said earlier it simply looks like a bad boy movie. Once again Hollywood screws up another potential great movie production.
Anyone remember "Street Fighter" the movie?
I might go see it if any friends of mine are going. I don't have high hopes for any video game movies anymore, but that means if it's any good I'll probably be thrilled. I'd heard the monsters were going to be based on a super-virus and not demons, if that's true my interest will once again drop.
I know what you guys mean about the trailer. I agree, but I'm not paying for my ticket. Well it comes out friday so we will see the ratings then and I will be going to see it Saturday.
You guys never know how the movie will turn out ....at least not yet

I'm glad I caught this one. I remember. Wasn't it made before the mortal kombat movies?
I think the movie was true to the series in some ways, but it did needed some special effects and signature moves. I think bison used a move though.

Yeah, my friend compared it to the HL2 plot... The only thing that movie had going for it (to me anyways) was to actually see the portal to hell, and to watch the Rock whoop some demon ass... But no, it is Hollywood and cliches sell...

Well I got to see this for myself (but we will hear about it friday). The Yahoo Movies have some good ratings from important places. I wonder what would be better:

Dude say it isnt true!! I cant believe they turned it into another Virus stricken zombie Resident Evil knockoff. This is Doom! It's supposed to be about the Gates of Hell opening up. Awwww Man I hate Hollywood! Supposedly the guys from Id claim that they had input into the making of the movie. Judging by this news flash this isnt the case.
It's really sad that the guys from Id were bought out like that. It's sacriligeous to alter the story of Doom. My faith in mankind has been compromised.

I am afraid so Dark... I lost my faith in humanity after I saw Blade III, the first two kicked ass, then the 3rd one was a shameless plug for the ipod and nothing else... Movies are continually getting worse and worse...
