In Japan the PS2 version is doing quite well. In the US, I can only note that Sony no longer sells a PS2 you can play FFXI on in the US...

I picked PC cuz that's what I'm playing it now. I'm not spending $400 bucks on a system that won't have that many games to play off the bat. If I EVER get xbox, it will be a year or 2 down the road when the price is a bit more feasible.
Personally, I hate XBOX, can't stand em, all they care bout is money not gaming, as is evident by the myriad of press conferences with Bill Gates. I'm all for competition and ingenuity but give me a break, he saw a billion dollar industry and decided he wanted a piece. Meh..sorry...Microsoft ticks me off.
Of course, I'm still a gamer at heart, and if xbox were given to me I wouldn't pass it up, by I think PC and PS2 ( and soon PS3) are better choices. Even Gamecube and Nintendo is better in my book than xbox.

Bill Gates funded the console and lost many millions. why? because they knew the xbox wouldnt sell much, it was only the beginning. The xbox proved to the world that quality games are on the xbox.
The actual fact is, is that sony ps2 are the moneygrabbers! they have over 900+ games which are mostly absolute crap. with the few exceptions of the ff series,res evil and socom. How much would u have spent on your ps2 since you bought it? memory cards, additional hardware and low quality games.
i really dont see how u can say the ps2 is better than the xbox. xbox-better graphically,hdtv supported,hard drive, great xbox live service. A small but awesome number of games. hardly any xbox game has gotten lower than a 5 in rating, compared to ps2 with quite over a hundred or so.
sure, ps3 will probebly sell better in the asian countries. why? because they love their little anime bul.s.hit games worth not even what it takes to make the game. secondly, none of the so called "in game footage" for the ps3 is actually real. so while the people at xbox360 are showing off the hardwares capabilites of the system with the already made games, sony is making phony cinematics and chucking the "ps3" tag on it. honestly, what would u rather have...quantity(ps3) or quality(xbo360)?
ps: the xbo360 core system will be $300, the full pack is $400. sony has stated that the price will be around $400, the xbox360 pack includes the system,controller,headset,hard-drive(detachable), dvd remote,hdtv support cables and other accessories. Do u actually think that sony will include that in their package-HeLL no!-the ps3 will only come with their crappy console and a boomerang of a controller. and microsoft has already stated they will have over 50+ games by the new year.
dont waste ur time trashtalking about the xbox360 you PS fanboys, your not only wasting your time but making lies as u go along.
*sigh* sorry to rain on your XBOX parade. Is it not ok for us to have a BAD opinion about a console YOU obviously love? In my experience with the 2 consoles, PS2 is far better in game choice. Now, I could give a flying rat's ass about Xbox live or the HDready crap. I personally am not ready to move online gaming from my PC to my console.
I'm not even going to go any further, did you even read the technical specs on the PS3? The CEL chip is gonna revolutionize not just games but all electronics everywhere.
Oh, and I am comfortable with the PS2 controllers, and I can't stand the xbox ones. Comfort and quantity and I think there is quality(FF games, Resident Evil, Kingdom Hearts, Red Faction(1 not 2), God of War, Prince of Persia(1 not 2) Devil May Cry(1 only lol), Onimusha, Genji(short but incredible to look at) the latest Hulk game, I can go on...the rest are ported to all systems.
I respect your view that YOU love xbox, but just because I rant on them, don't come in here cursing at those who disagree with you. YOU didn't make it so leave it be.
P.S. I don't plan on buying the PS3 at launch either due to the high cost of the system. This is another pet peave I have with these next gen consoles. They keep jacking the prices up to levels that I would rather spend on a PC which has more power and capabilities than a lone console. Ahh well the life of a gamer is not cheap.
Yea I'm not a big fan of Xbox. But every now and then they come out with any game that is productive but with the introduction of the 360 added to the community it will get the economy booming even more and make the game even more divers and some what more enjoyable to play. Its great now but it will be even better.
