There isn't a game out there that deserve an overall score of 1.0 nor a game that deserves a solid 10 because no game is perfect.

I'd like to know what the ratings are from people who actually took the time to rate that game and consider their experience.

The following people's opinions are pretty much irrelevant to actual game quality:

' This game sucks even though I haven't played it' then proceed to mark all 1's.

'This game rocks because It's my current addiction and I just bought it' then proceed to mark all 10's

I want to know what the ratings are without the fanboys or haters.

Even if it's a third rating scale that's placed somewhere small :)

When I rate a game, I play it as much as I can or as much as the content allows. There are games out there that I give a 1/10 and none that I have given a 10/10.

Now when it comes to the most anticipated MMORPGs, I will sometimes give a perfect score. Its all opinion, and noone coming in giving every game they can a 1 (can only do like two a day anyways) and the game they like a 10 can sway the outcome in any real way.

    Look at the chart:

    1.Graphics:
    2.Sound:
    3.Role Playing:
    4.Value:
    5.Fun:
    6.Community:
    7.Performance / Lag:
    8.Customer Service:

If the people areound you are like the ones in NA ROSE, then 3,4,5,6 are an automatic 1.
If the customer service and gms are like they are in NA ROSE, then 8 is an automatic 1.

So that leaves us with 1,2, and 7.

Number 2: For me personally, this is usually the lowest score I give. (obivously if it is like NA ROSE then it would tie at a 1)

The sounds in games are the most overlooked aspect of the game. We have to listen to them over and over and over, etc. They get boring really quick, even quicker if you are staying in the same spot hunting for hours on end. It would take an amazing score and some very amazing sound effects to get me to rate number 2 any higher than a 2.

So the two areas where a developer (not the publisher) has any say so, are 1 and 7.
Of course number 7 can really depend on the publisher too, if they have really bad admins or service.

To clarify, if the GMs are non existant and you have to deal with annoying 12 year olds that want you to go and download their keylogger, any fun that the developer intended will definitely be impared.
The community can oftentimes override the content.

So we get down to how well the server code is and how well the client code is, then how well the graphics are.

The graphics are completly opinion, some think WoW is great some think EVE is great. I mean, ultimately they are all opinion, but server and client code cannot be ignored and you don't need to play the game throughout the entire content to fully rate this. The sad thing is, if a company ports the title, much like codemasters is doing with RF, then the performance/lag can be worse because they just don't have the resources to provide for a mmo. (not saying codemasters is or will be bad, just giving an example off the top of my head)

To sum it all up: Its all opinion and the ratings mean nothing, if you want to try it play it don't count on joe001abc to make your mind up for you. (not saying any "you" in particular, just a gerneral "you")
