Will it work

Um what is needed to run the  game with minamal lag and very lettle problems. I have a dell Demison 4600. Pentium 4 with 2.4ghz and 2.9 in use. i also i have a 256 ram card and not sure how much in use tell me if this is enough or what i need to upgrade thanks in advance.

Lag is caused by internet bottlenecks anywhere between your computer and the server you play on. A decent connection speed WILL help, but not eliminate it if the server has problems, or anywhere in between.

If you mean, game lag, caused my data being loaded into memory, graphic lag caused my your card trying to draw lots of textures, then your system is fine. Only recommendation is RAM. If you don't have, make sure you have 1 gig min. Then you should have no problems..

go out and play a "good" mmorpg and not another eq clone

i suggest something along the lines of EvE or SoR or if u dont mind playing a rather dated but very good game AC

I will gladly back up EvE, but SoR I can't back up.  I downloaded the game and got the 7 day trial yesterday, and played it for a few hours, and turned it off never planning on playing again.  I think once you play EvE, and find out that you love it(it's not for everyone) no other game comes close.

How come every thread on this site turns into WoW is not as good or is better than something.  Why don't we keep the discussion on topic and not fill it with you opinions.

If you have something to aobut how it sucks or lacks go find a forum that is for that or start a thread about it but please don't post in a thread totally unlrelated.

You definately want RAM, ram is the name of the game with most any game made today. And 256 is barely enough to run win xp alone. Id suggest at least getting 256 more but would recommend getting a 512 stick. Then you would be just fine. As far as prices.....find out what type of ram you have then search it on Ebay....great prices if you dont mind waiting a few days. You can save sometimes 100 bucks on a 512 by buying on ebay as opposed to a store.

Apology for my commenting on the post you quoted from Nubbins, he just mentioned SoR, which I hate so far. 

As for the actual topic, I think what would be called a "decent" computer nowadays would run WoW fine.  I know that my computer is only a P4 2.4 ghz, with a radeon 9200 graphics card, nothing special.  And it has ran any MMO out, including EQ2 well enough for me to play.  And no offense to WoW because I know how much you guys hate people mentioning other games, but EQ2 graphics are super highend compared to it, and if my comp could handle it, then of course it can handle WoW.
