Small Complaint about rating system

Hey everyone, i got a small issue with they new rating stars etc. Ok, now from what i have read, the new rating system is based on activness on the site, i.e. if you log in everyday, how long you are logged in, what your doing.

Also it has to do with posting,(to a certain extent, i understand) But heres the thing, i log in, and spend all the time i am online here at mmropg.com. Unfortunatly i don't have my isp online anymore so i am restricted to using the computer lab at my college.

So everyday that i am at the college, i go into the computer lab to log in here and see whats new. But because the school isnt open on weekends, i go a few days without logging in.

So my complaint is that, with a system that is based on the time spent on the site/time logged in/ posts etc, how am i supposed to get a decent rating?

Somone that posts alot in forums, that logs in everyday and just looks around for hours might get a 5 star rating, while i am stuck with a 49 ( 3 star ) rating. Yet i come to the site EVERY chance i get to go online.

    I'm sorry for your unfortunate situation but does it really mean that much to you what your rating is?  If you write intelligent questions and informative articles people will recognize your name regardless of how many stars you have.  Besides, the admins probably won't change the whole system they just implemented because one person has connectivity issues for the next little while.

    I agree with Shelk, if you come on and post a lot, something I don't really do, you will be come more well known.  Actually popularity is worth more then stars

    I can tell you this...if you log in 50% of the days in a month and post lots of good content in the forums, you will get 4 stars.

    There is no way to make the system work for every unique situation out there.  It has to fit into a math formula.

    Like the earlier user said...don't place too much weight in it...it is just a silly rating :)

    i thought u guys would eventually make a leveling thing but this is much better becuz most people who post alot its just junk  I THINK

    I hear what you guys are saying, and i agree myself. I wasnt trying to whine, and i wasn't hoping to get my rating changed or get the system changed, just thought i would let you guys know about the situation. image Besides, i get what i want from this site wether i have 1 star or 5. image
