Serial Code for "Lineage 2(FREE)"?

While I was thinking about playing L2 after seeing many videos and hearing many interesting stories I noticed that under the option to buy serial codes in the NCSoft account manager Lineage 2 was listed and under it was listed Lineage 2(FREE). So my question is, what exactly is free about this? Free week trial? Free month? Boddy or Trial isn't listed just Retail and there's nothing that actually explains it.

I'm sure it's only a ten day trial for the game.  Can't see them give something like that away for free.

I really don't know why it says free. When you buy the game, you automatically get one free month of play. The game can sell for as little as $10 if you know where to look (I bought a copy for $19 from EB games last December.) But I haven't heard of any promotions with giving a free trial - usually if NCsoft does that, they will give a "friend code" - e-mail a code to their members who can then share it with their friends.

anyone have a buddy code they aren't using?

i played this during the open beta and wouldn't mind trying it out again.

The buddy codes only work for a certain amount of time. NCsoft usually sends them out right at the beginning of a new chronicle and then they expire after a month (maybe less, can't remember.) I think the last buddy codes to be sent out were in the spring, when C3 came out. So no, nobody has a buddy code. Sorry. =/ Chronicle 4 should be coming out soon, but they haven't specified a date yet, so it could be anywhere from Dec. - February (though I think it'll be sooner rather than later.) So you could wait for that, or you could just pay $10 at EB and play the game free for the first month.
