Anyone help me? Connection problems.

Well to get started. I have emailed wowtech about 4 times asking for help, becuase I d/c probally around 50-100 times a day. Where people will run in circles on my screen and people running forward forever, which only way to exit, is ctrl+alt+delete. Also don't mind to add, after waiting in a 400 queue, get d/c, then I have to wait in another 400 queue.

So anyone else have d/c that happens exactly like mine? and what they did to fix it? Configured my network card and forward ports and everything is exactly the same. Even wiped comp after getting new comp parts, still i d/c from game and cant post on forums....

  • Its not WoW, try calling your ISP and see if they can do anything.
What are you using to get internet, is it wireless?

I found this program, long ago, when I was playing EQ.

What I found is that frequently lag (or latency) is the ISPs problem OR some hop between you and the game host.

So, with WoW, you might try using this application "UOTrace".  I know it was written for UO, but if you just put in the WoW server name AND do not update the server list, you can still run the trace routine.

The difference between UOTrace and a normal Trace route is that UOTrace checks the UDP at each hop between you and the game host.  So, you can see if anyone is blocking UDP or lagging you out.  Then you know exactly who to yell at :)

WoW like most MMORPGs transmits data back and forth in UDP format, it's sloppy, but fast :)

I found http://support.uo.com/tech_0.html has an explanation of many things that you can do to check your connection ( I know it's UO, just read it for clues ) and then download the UOTrace routine and see what it says.

It might not fix your problem, but it at least will eleminate a few :)

My dog barks some. Mentally you picture my dog, but I have not told you the type of dog which I have. Perhaps you even picture Toto, from "The Wizard of Oz." But I warn you, my dog is always with me.
