What do you guys think, just a first glance.
It's not out yet, but the graphics of the game look pretty nice to me, colorful and some nice pieces of armor.
It looks misty on the screenshots, it gives a cool effect.
I don't know 'bout the gameplay yet, ofcourse. I'd lie to try it when it's online.
What do you guys think on first sight?

I'm more excited about the features page than any of the screenshots.
Fingers have been crossed for this game for a while and will remain so.
it has it's good points. the graphics are nice enough. i'm just sort of less than thrilled with another high fantasy mmorpg with elves, orcs, dwarves, etc. i'll wait a few months after release, and see how the player reviews are before checking it out.
It looks like a promising game, but their isn't very much information out as of yet. Sounds like pvp could be very promising.
Oh how I miss the old school AC1 Darktide...

The graphics look too nice for my 6600 GT to handle.
actually the graphics look rather poor, tbh
The polygon numbers are very low and the textures arent looking that great, either.
But I think it all depends on how it plays, in the end
However, I somehow doubt that this game will ever make it to release. Too few information and News on this title...
for me graphics don't mean a whole lot if the game play is what they say it will be. but let me tell you that just because they don't release information doesn't mean the game wont get released. yes its been in development a long time and been pushed back....you can argue that, but for all we know they could be purposely not releasing information to protect their product but who knows *shrugs*
read this http://www.vanguardsoh.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1044304#post1044304 then come back and talk to me about the vanguard/soe fiasco.....

Hmmm.. personally I like the idea that you can be what ever the hell you wanna be whether that concists of being a warrior, polatition or craftsman most MMORPGs out there if not all of them force you to be a specific class and do a specific thing and crafting and the lot is just a side project. As well I like the idea of player made houses and I think they imply cities too.. mind you the definition of cities in a game could be a place actually designated as a player made city or a clump of buildings set close together in the same area. All in all the game looks good and I wanna try it... if they'd hurry up and get it up and running soon! Course if I think there taking so long because alot of things in it that they've said will be there take a bit of work to get running. If you rush them they will have to cut things and will produce a substandard game. I'm willing to wait so long as the waiting doesn't extend outside my life expectancy date. :P

I am at a loss why people keep comparing apples with eggs.
Of course LotrO graphics look great and I loved the GW graphics but hellooooooooooooooooo...
Those games have total different gameplay.
DF is FPS PvP. Any little glitch or lag you have is going to be of great influence of the outcome of your fight.
It's not 80% instanced like GW. It's fully dynamic and depends on your skill and timing.
I seriously don't understand why people don't get their background information straight before posting.
That said - heavy graphics and high poly count slow down your machine and that is the last thing you want.
Right now I think they are on a great way to balance the look and feel of the game with performance. Of course we will only be able to tell for sure once we can play the game or see it in action.

Same here, graphics aren't as big of a deal as gameplay. You game can look the best, but if it has shitty gameplay, no one will play it; whereas if you don't have the best graphics but have good gameplay, it is easy to overlook the graphics.
Isn't LOTRO a completely PvE game? With a fighting system like WoW and 90% instanced? You can't compare the two of them. And I would go much more for performance than eye-candy. Eye-candie is only marketing.
Take WoW for example. Amazing graphics but sooo boring at the same time. It all looks plastic and artificial. And I know of many people who stoped playing WoW 3 months after becose their PCs couldn't handle the lag/breaks/etc. I could never play a BG, every time I entered IF or Oggri it was so laggy it hurted (and I mean physically) and whenever I wanted to travel by boat I had to travel with a warlock who would put me on fear so that I would fell off the boat.
It's a shame that today the big companies only go for graphics and the small companies, with inovative ideas, are always unsuccessful. I've been waiting for ages for a game like DF or Roma Victor. But, unfortunately DF looks like it is only vaporware by now (and even if it gets released it will only [I sincerely hope I'm wrong] be a mere shadow of what it could have been). As for RV it looks too amateurish and I suppose that after its release it will only have about 5000, half of them being Historician sociopaths.
But even if they fail other big companies will sooner or later catch their ideas and create a truly divine game.
My best hope is still Warhammer.
I don't mind the graphics, in fact i think their pretty good. But i'd rather they concentrate on gameplay and performance, and that seems to be the direction their going. And i really don't mind the wait, they seem to be dedicated to taking their time and getting things just right. I think if they deliver this will be the hottest mmo since old school UO.
