just because you don't like it doesn't mean its a "pathetic" game. normaly i just ignore posts like this, but you have been bashing WoW in a lot of topics, its getting annoying.

And as a previous poster said you really have been coming into a lot of posts and bagging WoW, why don't you just keep your opinions to yourself.
As for the "decent" mmorpgs you've listed...well EVE has been discussed to death on these forums and the greater majority of people say that it is boring and the skill system is bad. SoR is very similar to EVE in that the quests are repetitive and unimaginative and lvling your skills takes forever and all you're doing to get them is grind.
Man, all these EVE supporters continually jumping in on threads that have NOTHING to do with EVE NOR has anyone asked for recommendations on whether to play EVE (or what game to play at all). You're going to force me to start a paladinesque crusade soon!
SMITE EVE-IL SMITE EVE-IL!!! See what you've reduced me to!

He didnt say he capped 4 he said when he resubbed the 4th time he capped. I doubt that was the first cap though. As this is the Pub, he can say whatever he wants, even if it is to bash WoW.
And yet you mention the quests of SoR, how they are repetative and unimaginative... WoWs are just as bad, they are just written better. It all boils down to 'Go to X and collect 5 Y's" or "Bring this Q to my friend in S".

Um...I think you should re-read his post...sounds to me like he capped his 4th char in under a month...but I'll wait to see which way he confirms.
True...he can say whatever he wants...and so can I...
So what you're saying is WoWs quests are more imaginatively written and not as repetitive as SoRs, which is exactly the point I was making...thx.

No, what im saying is that WoW at least tries to give some of their quests a little bit of a backstory, while the quests themselves are still nothing more than what everyother MMORPG has done. It makes you feel like youre doing something important rather than running around aimlessly killing wolves for their pelts. The quests are still as repetative and boring as any other level based MMORPG.
And I still think he meant on his fourth resubbing, but I guess well need him to confirm that.
let me clarify i stayed with WoW and continued to subscribe for my friends and guildmates on my first char no other reason
now during this time i left WoW 3 times before leaving for good but all 3 times i went back for my friends who for one reason or another refused to leave as i had done
so i decided to resub simply for them this was the case for each time i resubbed, during this time i rerolled 3 toons that i eventually lvled to 60
due to how utterly bored i got with running instance after instance aka end game hell
i hope that explains it
as for the number of posts i had made bashing WoW, 2 chief reasons are to blame good ol' fashion boredom and an effort on my part albeit misguided to help "educate" people about the truth of WoW as i see it
Originally posted by nubbins so i decided to resub simply for them this was the case for each time i resubbed, during this time i rerolled 3 toons that i eventually lvled to 60
Sorry...I still don't understand...how many chars have you levelled to 60?
If it's 4 (or even just the 3) then no wonder you are bored with it. That's a helluva lot of hours to spend on one game. I get bored of the same game after 100 or 200 hundred hours (except for WoW actually it took me about 350 hours before I felt I'd played it enough), but if you've levelled 4 chars to max you've probably spent over 1000 hours in the game. What a shame that a game isn't good enough to hold your attention for more than 1000 hours...must be a shocking game.

Dang hadz...you've really developed into a fanatical, cultist, EVE-hating troll in an amazingly short amount of time. Calm down man. The reason EVE keeps coming up is because there are a lot of threads out there asking about certian qualities EVE has or they're complaining about certian aspects of their current MMO which EVE fulfills. I will agree with you though that there are some posts that seem like a blatant plug for EVE that comes out of nowhere, but those are by far much fewer than the number you claim them to be.
The fact is that the current MMO design architectures are broken into 2 branches. Someeone made a good post a while back that on one side we have UO followed by EVE. On the other side we have EQ and all the other MMOs in the marketplace. So when there are complaints or design suggestions for MMO#1, it is kind of natural to use EVE and UO as an example or tool of comparison.
So hold back a bit hadz, the EVE fanboys aren't on a marketing crusade quite yet, they're just providing examples of a vastly different MMO architecture to a community that is dominatly familiar to the EQ, AO, WOW, etc MMO design.

Yeah, I have I suppose, but the smite EVE-il thing is just a joke. I'll stop it...soon...promise.
I just have a problem when they call (and it's more than one of them) people who think their game is boring; immature, impatient, spoiled, WoW-loving, braindead, babies-that-need-their-hand-held.
They just seem to be SO touchy, it's annoying. Anyway, I've already said in another thread that I'd stop, and it's time I did. I'm not a troll...just a bit reactionary...hehe.
I'm playing the 14-day trial for EVE, just to see how things look from when I played it on release and once again later. The game does have improvements, the grind isn't so bad. Nevertheless, the game just isn't my cup of tea. Everyone says that the thing that makes EVE really great is the closely tied community, and the only good way to enjoy the game is to get into a corp and play along side others for PvP and whatever. In other words, solo players are kind of at a disadvantage for enjoying them game. If I'm wrong about this assumption someone please correct me.
I'm paying for two MMO's as it is. A third is a bit over my budget as well.
Ive said it 100 times, and ill say it again. EVE is a 99% direct port of TDZK... a text based space war game. www.tdzk.net
EVE is good, but the slow start is what pulls the game down. It has the same flaws the text game had, and the fact that its slower than the text game doesnt help it much.
Although, if you really look at it, it does have some good qualities. If you think, the reason text-based browser games are still around is because things are constantly changing. What im trying to do in my design architecture right now is take whats good about the EQ architecture, and the EVE architecture, and blend them into a well formatted game...
anyways, WoW has some good points, EVE some good points, either way, we need to harness the powers of both to make the next gen games a hit

Why? its almost a fact hes going to leave again soon. Studies show that when people go back to the MMOs, they usually leave beacuse of the same reasons they did the first time. The key is to not make a bad MMO
Grrr. I usually dont post on these sort of threads, but ive had enough. Open your eyes and look around. Just about every person who bashes WOW has admitted to lvling their character to 60 in less then a month which says what? It says their a hardcore gamer. Okay in my experiance as a hardcore gamer you can play pretty much every aspect of a game in a month and be completly bored of it. Remember this is something ive found all hardcore gamers to have in common. Bottom line is, when you spend so much time on a game to where you can cap out in less than a month your going to get bored fast. If you play less and live more youll have a better gaming experiance.
