Lame. Nobody cares. Good job MMORPG.com at overhyping something to get hits... I guess you now work for the MMO companies and not the gamers. Last time I visit this site...

The last time? Really? Wow. Considering that this site is the best MMO site out there, I guess you'll be missing out on a lot of good content and discussion. But, ah well, if they over-hype one story and then apologize for it, I guess they deserve to have you not come back ever again.

In case it isn't overly obvious, read the above with a heavy dose of sarcasm.

Oh, and thanks for coming back at least one last time to read this. ::::02::

OMG, I can't believe all of you acting so immature.

He even said last night it wasn't a BIG THING!

I think it isn't the editors fault at all. It is the readers fault for anticipating so much out of this news site. What did you expect? Signed copies of WOW or EQ2 and a 6 month free subscription or something?

To me, this is just a reminder how childlike the readers can be here and blow everything out of proportion and then throw a temper tantrum when they don't get what they want.

I know a lot of you were expecting something from your favorite game or at least something that would get you excited, but you all need to remember, this is a news & community site, not your clans site or some small group thing you belong to.

I just don't understand why some get so overwhelmed from an announcement and then get up early to go stand in line, or virtually hitting F5 constantly all morning long at this site, flooding it, hoping to be the first to read and the first to respond to something that may benefit them the most, which I can see just by the responses that they were expecting a first come first serve thing or a limited invite to something. Reminds me of herded animals and how some humans behave just like it when someone holds up a carrot. Then these herded animals come here and start whining when the carrot they got doesn't taste the way they like.

Well, I was anticipating either an Open Beta announcement of DDO or the unknown Alliance race to be reveiled for WoW. However that didn't happen and I am not going to start spitting at the editor for it. Shame on all of you that don't know how to control your own tempers and learn to calm down before you start even typing to the GP.

IMHO, This announcement was just as expected. However it wasn't what I was hoping for, but something for the fans of DDO that live in Europe. I am sure this is big news to them to know that DDO will be out in EU as well.

I think a lot of people need to stop using the internet to openly make asses of themselves and start learning to control their Wimpering pup personality.

To the Editor; You did your job, there shouldn't be any apology at all in my opinion. If others tend to read more into what you say, then again, you did your job. I don't see you are here for US, the gamers or for THEM the developers, however I do see you are here for BOTH, to bring us ALL together so we get the information they are trying to get to us. THUS....a MMORPG community and news site...

BTW, thanks for the info. That news just told me that DDO will be a larger game than anticipated, Thank you!

I have to agree... this is not the "exciting" that I expected... not that I was expecting anything in particular but "ho hum".

But no worries... no use getting worked up... thanks for the news mmorpg. could have been worse... could have been some major announcment that some game was cancelled.

Heh, Im sure D&D Online aren't thrilled with giving mmorpg.com this exclusive and to have it be met with such widespread dissapointment.

ty- and it wasn't a big deal.

I think DnL devs have worked many bored mmo'ers (like me) into a frenzy with a generic "November" release date, so I think the community already had the torches and pitchforks waiting for you on this one.

  • PhallPhall Member Posts: 54

Who cares? You guys from mmorpg.com ( sponsored by IGE ) should think about what your readers are actually interested in and not make a big deal about such ...

"Codemasters", the company, that canceled the promising "Dragon Empires" because they found out too late, that it's middleware wasn't sufficient for a MMOG ( which could probably happen to everyone of us... ) and who are now going to publish a major Asian "Vaporware RF Online" game, are going to bring D&D Onlne to Good Old Europe... WoW, jump around, jump, jump...

Codemasters play a <<< minor ( no ) role in the MMOG business, so who cares ?

I have to admit this topic is funny. I accept the apology, but let this be a learning experience. Don't over hype. Just say "There will be a mmorpg.com exclusive announcement". Not like "There will be a MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT THIS SATURDAY from a BIG company that is mmorpg.com exclusive". Make the information as neutral as possible, like the news on tv. If they get an announcement, they don't scream it out like your going to be thrilled.

I would love to know if mmorpg.com really didn't know what the news was.

Anyway, it's normal news..to me (which is the pointimage).

Were you trying to get somewhere saying "sponsored by IGE". I would sponsor them too if I didn't want my members to pay.

I absolutely can't agree with IGE/SOE-like item sale-practices and IGE is in MMORPG.com's banner-rotation which I think is ridiculous and destructive for the MMOG-genre but sure, it's a matter of opinion...

And please don't make me laugh, who would pay for a MMOG-info site ?

    kthxbye

    *giggles maddly*

Reading your reaction guys is priceless.  I am literally ROFL.  image  PRICE-LESS!  image

Yeah I am a NA as well and I cant care less what they do over there, unless I can tease the Frenchs of the Brits with it!  image  (teasing the Frenchs and the Brist is a national sport in Canada)  image

Good Job Lepi, don't stop because a few person bitch.  Some folks bitch first, think later!  image  I try hard not to do the same.

Yes, I was disappointed with the news, but well, I can't blame Lepi.  It is a "big news", there is no arguing there.  It is not what I want, but it is a big new.

Gratz to the fellow who deliver the DDO or /comfort to those who didnt get it.  image

    *start giggling more*

CodeMasters seems to be starting a "middle man" kind of trend in the industry.

Besides that point, and the fact that CM isn't worthy to be on the same planet as Turbine, much less work with their product, it's nothing big.

Now, just as exciting...i'm going to make buttered toast...FROM THE TOASTER NEXT TO MY FRIDGE!

Who is going to release the game in a country is a bigger news than any single feature in the game, but to someone selfish and not affected by the news, this may not seem to be the case.  image

Do you understand what it means to everyone in Europe?  CM will impact a LOT of things for them, and this site gives the info first.

Now if you are unhappy and rather know something about the longsword +5 Vorpal and how to get it, you are like me, a children looking for ingame info.  Nothing bad, but please, don't trash major information.

When they announced that SoE was going to handle their other game and handle the CS, would you say it was a small news?  No, it was a Flame trend on the site, peoples were crying out to devil.  Because it happens not in NA and because folks hardly know CM doesnt means it is a small news.

Thank you for showing your ignorance and been pretty rude about it.  I remember the trend when AC was handled to SoE (or was it another game) for retailing.  This is the same type of news, and now, suddenly, because it is not SoE and not in NA it is suddenly a small news?

I still say good job on Lepi, maybe you need to make a more serious section away from the kids who will flame anything that is not related with the ingame information.  Yes my inner children want to throw rocks at you Lepi, but you did just fine, it is a Big News...of course it doesnt affect me as a player in Canada, but it is still a big news.  Maybe SoE = bigger news than CM for the same stuff however.
