New player, Need some help please!

Hi! I just got FF11 last night but I'm already extremely confused. Firstly, I can tell the graphics are on low rez, yet i know my computer can handle high rez fine, (i tested in the benchmarks and should be able to), so how do I turn the graphics to high rez? Another problem I'm having is trying to get money for weapons or armor. It seems like everything costs about 500 gil yet all I get from monsters is worthless loot that sells for 4 gil. Is there some easier way to get money early on?

Also, I want to join the server my friends are on, but they are telling me to just keep on making my character over and over until I get the right server. What are the chances that this will work?

Lastly, my sound is extremely screwed up! The music skips wildly which is not only annoying, but it seems like it maybe be causing some problems. My computer already froze 3 times while trying to loud my character.

Well... I kind of solved one of my problems, but started another. I figured out how to set the Resolution higher but in doing that, the text and menus and everything get extremely tiny. The graphics work great, but is there a way to make it so the text and everything arne't ultra-tiny?

Also, several several times it has crashed when trying to load my character screen. I'm not sure if anyone can help me with this, but what would cause this to happen?
