I bet you were suprised at those numbers, huh. The truth is that if people want to be a Jedi they are going to be one, no matter how long it takes them to get it. In the end it doesnt matter. I do think having a bunch of Jedi running around will ruin the immersion, but that battle has been faught already and theres only one thing to do about it now. That is suck it up or quit playing.
My apologies then. Im used to people posting things like that to prove a point which for this game the point would be SOE sucks and is going down hill which obviously I dont believe.
immersion has been ruined for some time now because of the already ungodly number of jedi running around swinging their glowsticks. and i believe everyone can agree that the devs majorly dropped the ball in this court. not only did they make it possible to be jedi, which should have never been in the game. but they told people exactly how to attain it... not only that they held their players hands to get there by making it possible to master any profession in one to two days. no immersion is already clusterfooked in SWG. making jedi characters starting proff's can't possibly harm it anymore.
i will say this tho. they atleast took away alpha class status away from the jedi class (atleast those that will be starting as them) making it no more desireable (atleast in a skillset point of view) than the rest of the classes.. that doesnt mean that every kid with mommies credit card won't create a jedi.. they will.. everyone will. well nearly everyone.
the only thing i don't get is that this was a golden time to change the timeframe of the game so they could atleast save a little face with the "real" star wars fan crowd. really it wouldnt take much to change the games setting to a clone wars era timeframe.. or even a post episode 6 timeframe. but their still sticking to their guns that this game is set in the events following episode 4. seriously.. i mean are they manufacturing their own crack over at SOE? because if the chit their smoking ever hit the street crackheads across the country would be scaling buildings like spiderman.
I think that if they are going to let people be jedis right from the start, let bounty hunters still be able to kill them. So in that case it makes people second guess being a jedi. just a thought....

aye.. but from what i've heard veteran jedi will still be more powerful.. i guess it just depends on if veteran jedi wish to play planetside....... err i mean the NGE. or if they were lucky enough to ebay off their accounts before the value hit rock bottom.. then you'll see a bunch of illiterate kids running around with glowwangs saying such things like "1 pownd j00 f00lz!!!oneone11" or claiming that everyone that beats them is cheating somehow.
No more than it is already ruined. You can AFK it now in like 3 months.
At least they aren't an uberleetdood aplha class now.

Though it is nice to dream about and attain, an alpha class in a multiplayer game just doesn't work in the scope of things. I wish it did, then I would still be better than most. Alas, now I have to play the game and learn how to compete.
Being able to play a jedi from the start is going to bring me back to SWG. After almost two years I left because I had done everything else and didn't have the time to complete the FS grind in less than 6 months so I didn't even try.
Jedi is the last thing on my SWG "to do" list, and I'll resubscribe to do it, even if the jedi class is just a shadow of its former self.
