Does AO still lock on ATI/AMD

FrittisonFrittison Member UncommonPosts: 90

Yep that is my build an ATI + AMD box. However I have been in this sort of fiendish withdrawl for AO ever since I signed up for the free account to see if the game had gotten any better. When I logged in I immediately felt the fun factor kick in again and made a nano tech. After 9 levels of exploring newbie island the game locked. It locked hard, so hard in fact I had to reboot my computer. This was the reason I left the first time. Trying to enjoy shadowlands only to lock every couple of hours got old. Did I miss something then? Am I still missing something now? I really miss playing this game and after 140 levels on an adventurer I am again willing to submit to the meat grinder if only the damn client would stop hard locking.
Any help is appreciated with this problem folks.

Well you are not alone it seems.

I use nvidia so cant say first hand by I frequent the official forums and there is abundance of info there.

Wich driver version to use for example, seems that newest is not always the best, and so on and so forth.

If you have an active account then go there and ask around, if not then make a froob one and use that for questions. :)

I am sure that people over there have more experience with this then we here.

I run on a AMD processor with a Radion 9200 (omega drivers) and little to no issues with it locking up on me.

You might have some other software running in the background though that could be causing a problem.
