And corporations don't care about the people, they just care about profit. So your best bet for good MMORPG gaming is find a dedicated group of developers.
I agree somewhat, there would be companies out there that do care about their customers and listen to feedback. But their main agenda would still be about making money.
Still, listenening to their community and implementing what people want would probably get them more money anyhow as opposed to corporations who dont listen would probably make less as customers would leave.
So i guess that makes the corporations stupid for not listenening and as a result would make less profit. Maybe these guys need to go back to business school.
As I argued another thread, I think most of these companies possess the belief that what they release is a game. It is, however, a service. Meaning you need to have a good communication with your customers, companies need to adjust to this.
The problem is corporations like SOE want too much profit so they will spit out expansion within 6 months of a games release and make you pay for new content. Also they can jack up prices on monthly fees.

And the end of the day it will still be all about the money.
If a mmorpg doesnt make money it cant be sustained.
Difference between a corporation and a group of dedicated develops is one listens to the customers and the other one doesnt.
It is about the profit, but aren't there any small companies out there that truely care about the customers?
