All races can be all classes?

Why oh why did they decide to do that? I can see it now.. a warforge rouge trying to sneak up on someone to backstab, or try to lockpick a door with a hand the size of a MELON!..

Or even worse, a warforge mage? I mean, comeon.. a race made from metal casting spells when a mage barely can cast spells when they have metal on them in the ammount of a belt knife!

gah! *whine*

All races being able to play all classes is a 3rd edition feature, it's been that way for awhile now.

edit: Also as for the Warforged being inappropriate for certain classes, if the pick certain feats (I think Mithril Armor and Adamantine Armor), they do get high AC but a significant reduction to Dexterity-based skills and arcane casting chance. So yes, a heavily armored warforged would have great difficulty in these professions. That they can be any class that players want, is probably why this armor is entirely optional; a warforged rogue without an armor enhancement is entirely viable, apparently their basic design is stealthy and has sufficient dexterity for casting spells without hindrance.

Every race can be every class, but you have to remember that some class' start with advantages. For example, halflings have a dex bonus in the beginning which sets them up for being a good rouge. So sure a warforged can be a mage or rouge, but that doesn't mean they'll be just as good.

D&D is all about roleplaying and some of the most fun builds are generated away from the norm. Taking the stereotypes and throwing them out the window and coming up with something that is both original and works as a character should be applauded not derided in this day of cookie cutter MMORPG characters. If you can't see yourself playing a warforged mage then hey don't play one pick an elven ranger and enjoy that :)
