The servers have been down for 15 hours now. The forums are down. There's not one word on the website telling us why its down.

Actually the forums are up (or atleast now they are).
At the datacenter there was a blackout that wrecked havoc on the servers, causing data loss and other things (charactors, towns, etc, going poof). The are rolling eveything back today and cleaning up the mess it made.
Ive see that happen before in every other MMORPG ive played too, its not a common thing tho. Used to be common in UO in its first year, seems the hampsters running the server calculators took breaks often.
