A while back they made it possible to pack up your house w/contents, one of their few good ideas. Now they've halted character server transfers. Expect an extended down time soon while they pack up everyone's house/guild hall to their datapad, consolidate servers to a blank one with no player structures. At the same time they can institute the new bases instead of cities mentioned in several other threads.

They said they had no intentions to merge any servers.
So it must be true.

I dont think they will consolidate. My opinion is they will wait and see how the console version goes and if it fails they will just pack up everything.

There will be no server merges, move along, move along...

They won't merge servers yet. Not til after xmas and they see what kind of response they get from console sales.

No of course server mergers won't happen; it'd be the sensible thing to do.
I understand that players would be concerned over how cities, houses, and other structures would transfer, however I'm sure SOE/LA could create some type of consolation for their losses. Not only would server mergers result in denser player concentrations, it would also mean less maintenance expense for SOE/LA.
