You are correct to assume X-Box's cost will drop near the PS3 release. Microsoft knows that PS3 is going to get its market share, so might as well grab as much as they can. And by the way, I think the new processing chip (cell chip) I believe in the PS3 is going to double the X-Box's capabilities. I am excited to see what both bring, but still wont purchase either just after release.Have fun playing your games, console or computer

I see where you are coming from..... But there is just soo much more to gain from shorting out the PS3 sales for Microsoft... I have read many articles about this crap that Microsoft is calling a shortage... Many many professionals say that something looks fishy.. The shortage of XBox360's seems faked or Intentional to most of the authors of the articles I've read... and after some thorough thinking I have come to the same Descision.. It just makes more sense..... The short term look at it is... get as many XBox sales now as possible... So as to establish their share...
The long term look is... Since sony is the biggest competition.. then what they can do is try to cut into the sales of the PS3... and it will be all gravy for MS from there... You see if MSoft does this then they can drop their prices 20 - 30 bucks a week or two before the PS3 comes out... and all of a sudden.. the XBox360 is like 150 Dollors less than the PS3... And both of them are REally new and really powerfull... So consumers will be thinking ... lets just save the money and buy an XBox360... this is especially going to be the case for moms and dads looking for a new toy for their kids.... So more people go out and get Xbox's and then now there is less money to get a PS3 .... And then wow alll of a sudden PS3 sales... aren't that good because why? Xbox undercut the Competition....

Just like if you and a dwarf are running away from a Dragon... you dont have to runn faster than the dragon... all you have to do is runn faster than the dwarf..

Thats why i think XBox is stalling... because they know all they have to do is be alittle bit ahead of Sony... and in the end they will win... And we all know Microsoft loves dirty tactics....

But dont worry... Sony is sure and steadyfooted... They have been planning this for a while... I'm sure they have a few tricks up their sleeve... Something that is going to blow XBOX OUT of the water...
I'm counting on The Cell chip... It just seems Such a stroke of Genius how it works... If all turns out how I expect it to... the XBox360 wont be able to keep up....

Note: I love Playstation, kinda sorta like Xbox.

Games using the Unreal 3 engine will be coming out and they'll have awesome graphics. I'm not sure about Gears of War or Huxley (don't know alot about them), but I'm sure Unreal Tournament 2007 will have great gameplay.

XBox 360 is also going to have some other nice titiles: Peter Jackson's King Kong, Call of Duty 2, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and Dead or Alive 4.

Gears of War, and DOA4 is a long way a way... Peter Jackson's King Kong, Call of Duty 2, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion all coming out for other systems makign them just ports...

Chill, the console just came out. It's just like when ppl bashed the Xbox becuase there was few games on release at launch. Anyway Oblivion can't handel my PC so the 360 will handel it. Nothing bad about ports, usually ports have speical features. Take RE4 for example. When it went to PS2, It got many new features. Ports now-a-days usually have something extra/speical about them (depends).

You have your good PC I have my 360 (not yet) so it's all good.
