I was wandering the internet aimlessly, when i stumbled upon a video posted today on fileplanet:
http://www.fileplanet.com/158699/150000/fileinfo/Exteel-Cinema-Trailer
Seeing as fileplanet has it listed under Massivley Multiplayer, i assumed it was one
At any rate, it features big robots and big guns... looks to be interesting.

I believe - not entirely certain though - that this is a game that was cancelled a while ago.

yeah, i guess that would explain why there is nothing on NCsoft's website about it... altho fileplanet had put up that video on the 18... oh well...
it just seemed like an interesting concept, so i kinda jumped on it.
funny thing is that all the servers have 30+ min lineups

well, after doing some research on it, I dont think its cancelled.
I checked out the realtime footage and it looks amazing. It is very fast paced and its also twitched based (at least from what I see it is)
They dont have much information on it but their ar at least 3 videos for it

After doing some random snooping around and such, I can... Infer a couple things. Just random stabs in the dark:
It looks like it's presently being developed primarily as a Korean game, presumably still in its beta stages. Its official address is http://exteel.plaync.co.kr .
Surprisingly, (or not surprisingly to some...) Gamestop already has a predicted date for it, which should be sometime around the end of next year.
Supposedly, this game's been known since sometime around last E3... But nobody's made any mention of it until now. And personally, I'm already incredibly hyped about it. I can only wonder when beta testing is going to begin...
But since it's a MMO, and not technically a MMORPG, will it or won't it get a spot on this website? Until PlayNC gets a page up for it, I want a source to keep me posted on updates regarding this thing's development. I've been hyped about Auto Assault since last May, but I think this might be the one title to pull me away from City of Heroes at long last. NCSoft just does not stop churning out incredible concepts.
looks like you can DL the client on the site, anybody know how to make an account?

Dear Atoh,
The Mecha genre was definetly a good pick for a game that many people would drool over; myself included. There is only 1 major design flaw with the game, its being made by NCsoft. Non-point and click combat is essential for a fun mecha game. In the history of NCsoft they have not released a non-mouse click oriented game (Auto Assault may be different). If this game is Point and Click as typical of nearly all NCsoft games it will keel over and die miserably. Judging by some of the camera angles obtained in the screenshots, there is a strong possibility it is infact point and click.
Thank you,

Don't know exactly what you mean by "point and click" cleffy...
But both GW and CoH aren't point/click in the strict sense of the word. You don't even have to use a mouse at all in GW (if you don't want to). And you certainly can use WASD to walk and num keys to "cast" skills...same with CoH as far as I remember (being over a year since I played).
(If you mean point/click combat-wise then that's a whole 'nother topic entirely, and it's certainly not limited to NCsoft games, nearly every MMORPG out there, with good reason IMHO at the moment, is point/click/wait combat-wise)
EDIT: Oh, you obviously mean combat-wise, but that's definitely NOT limited to NCsoft. Any company that is making a new game has to decide if they will go against the genre entirely and make combat different to the norm. (Games like DDO and Conan are coming out with new combat which isn't click and wait, so the genre is certainly moving in that direction). Anyway, sorry for the detour...back to our regularly scheduled thread.
I think he means walking, transportation, and the interface use. NC soft is notorious for using point and click movement. I think this is what he means but I can be mistaken.
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
My apologies, I got it confused by Exarch.
It is still in development, they had it in the meeting areas at E3, although no one was available to talk about it.

I dont think its very point and click (unless you point at your enemy and then click to fire your weapon, but I wouldnt call CS a point and click game)
