Two weeks in an MMORPG doesn't translate to much of an advantage. It just isn't that long in the timeframe of the game. Additionally, it takes a warped view to say that "beta testing" is a negative. Everybody knows betas are betas and very few expect much out of them. But MMO players still enjoy them as a bonus because we will hopefully immerse ourself in a world full of actual promise.
I'm not quite as suspicious of RV as I am of DnL. Five months worth of gold not to mention the other bonuses for players and a price tag of $59.99. The cap of 1,500 players also says to me that RV is trying to maintain a certain population - not steal all the money they can. Bottom line is while I still probably won't preorder RV at least I haven't been turned off to it like I have to DnL.
