Br carefull what you buy..

Stripe in the X365 forums found this one for us. Be careful what you bid for on Ebay. One 'lucky' buyer ended up spending $200 on an empty Xbox Limited edition box - no Xbox, just the box. In what seems like a complete act of stupidity, the buyer, known as echo910 grabbed himself a bargain, something he can leave as his legacy for his grandkids....

Here's the full details of the listing
Up for auction is a mint condition, limited edition Xbox box. It has No scuffs or marks and looks rather nice. Use it to impress your friends by making them think you have a spiffing brand new crystal xbox sat at home, or carry it around town in a see through carrier bag to be the envy of geeks everywhere. This is the must have accesory for gamers.

The Winner paid £115.00 (Reserve met)

Here's the sellers comments: Fast payer, but a bit rude. And should read auctions better before paying. And Here's the buyer, echo910 comments: never buy anything from this f**king w**ker £120 for a box

Comments

  • Any idea at what price the auction started? If it was low, I can't feel any sympathy whatsoever for the buyer.

I hear they're running for over $1,300 on ebay. So....wait a little while, or pay $900 extra for a couple of weeks of playing.

    Caveat emptor.

There was nothing misleading. If anything the seller just did everyone a favour by pointing out the stupidity of the buyer for all to see. If anything, the buyer will get in trouble since foul language, masked or not, is not permitted on eBay. Someone just got too excited and hit pay it now thinking they were a shrew business-person.

This reminds me of the lawsuit versus Hooters in which the waitress was told she was going to win a new "Toyota" ( verbally ) and in fact she was awarded a new "Toy Yoda"

"What is it I have against Microsoft, you ask? Well, you know how you feel when you wait for an MMO to come out and when it does you feel like you've paid to play it's beta test for another 6-9 months before anything even thinks of working the way it should? Being a network engineer you feel that way about anything Microsoft puts out."

I knew a guy a couple years in school who was selling boxes that 40 inch plasma screens came in

he sold atleast 6 before Ebay banned his account, and for thousands!

it was great, it was great image

I remember that Toyota thing. I swear do people really get easy money like this from stupidity? Not only that it is acceptable right?

Old they also spam fake messages from the Admin trying to get your PW in some clever trick.

Professor Hubert Farnsworth - That question is less stupid but, you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.

people selling on ebay or anywhere like that shows there coldhearted bastards. i wouldnt trust them with my life. karmas a b}7ch.

its easy to make a play on words and mislead anyone but to do that to make money off people is wrong and unethical in my book.::::20::::::28::

many ppl are stupid, so what do you expect?

seriously, why should it be forbidden to sell empty boxes. i'm quite sure that there are ppl out there who really want to pay a few dollars for an emtpy but well-designed box. if the description is not misleading i cannot see anything wrong with it. if ppl are really that stupid not to read the text, especially when it is as short as in this case, they in fact deserve it.
