After reading this article (which has quite a few details I haven't personally seen before about the game) I have to say that Spellborn has now moved to the TOP spot on my most anticipated MMOs.
The game seems to take everything I've enjoyed from MMOs and removes the stuff that makes them annoying, repetitive and/or a drag. With a big international development team and a huge concentration on story (but still allowing players to shape the world in some way) and world-development I really think THIS one will be the sleeper hit of 2006. Well...here's hoping anyway.
(The only thing it seems to be missing is a full crafting system, going for a more GW style "craft" system. I actually think this is a good thing too as every crafting system I've played has either been repetitive, skilless, slow, frustrating or ALL of these in combination.)

The first time I visited mmorpg.com, I saw Spellborn and joined mmorpg.com just to sign up for the beta contest. So I thank this site for that, cause it made me spot a game I'd have missed otherwise (most likely).
I've been following it since then, and everytime I read or hear about it it sounds better. Plus they seem to have a huge team of developers, and whoever is writing their storyline & lore is doing a fantastic job. This game has HUGE potential (it's like GW, which I believe is the brilliant START of an MMO, but it appears Spellborn will go much further than GW in terms of story and replayability, with players influencing the world and so on), suffice to say...I really hope it will rock!
