Just answering his claim that he'll smite the "heathens" down... though after posting, I realized, no lighty will ever win against the dark side. We have the emperor and Darth Vader... oh wait.. that's another game *cackle* I voted for Dark anyway.

Obviously Light since I view myself as the knight in shining armor trying to rescue the unsuspecting peasants from the dark forces out to take advantage of the unsuspecting souls.

Well, considering the Definitions of Dark and Light not being Evil and Good, it's tough to choose.

Dark is destructive magic, and light is benificial magic.

However, for my first character, I plan on playing a Wood Elf Ranger, which requires light alignment.

Later on, I may experiment with a Dark Dark Elf. lol, is that a Real Dark Dark Elf?

My first character will be Wood-Elf Druid but I STILL can't decide whether I want to play Dark or Light... I  couldn't vote since there wasn't a spot for "undecided", hehe...

Furrbawl, why does Wood Elf Ranger require light alighnment...? Unless I misunderstood what I read, Wood Elf Rangers can be light as well as dark... (someone correct me if I'm wrong...)

Never mind. When reading the lore, and the original descriptions of wood elves, they implied the Wood Elves god was Neutra, which would require Light alignment.

However, since they have updated the FAQ on the races on the DnL pages, I see that they have given the Wood Elf race free reign:

Although, they are very limited on what gods they can follow. In fact, if you look at the race table, you will see that Monks may only follow Neutra, and they say that if you are "strongly aligned" you may only choose one god.

I guess it depends how closely to the lore you plan on playing, and whether you plan on roleplaying. Since I enjoy roleplaying, and enjoy the lore, I will still play my Wood Elf Ranger aligned Light and worshiping Neutra.

So, yes, I was wrong. It seems that Wood Elf Ranger doesn't require light alignment.

Light side here. Two SoG accounts baby yeah!

1st account Full buffer/healer Cleric

2nd account Level 50 Thief,  Warrior and Ranger.  To get a feel for which one I go live with at launch in April.

Im not certain on races yet til I get to see stats etc...

I prefer races though with high hitpoints  and let my buffer/bot, equipment,  crafting/pots etc.. take over in the dps department.   Its why I chose Norse Shadowblade in DAOC vs Kobold. etc,,,

I cant over emphasis hitpoints.

Latest official remark about who belong to the dark realm make me in doubt but I think I go for light anyway.
