Someone did a similar thread on the official forum. Thought I'd make version here before they get deleted and banned there. I personally don't like File Planet but, still. they are unquestionably the biggest game download site. So how has the NGE been selling compared to the competition?

SWG 3,689 paid downloads since November 15 link
SWG 26,609 10 day trials since November 15 link
WoW 125,424 10 day trials since November 9 ]link

It's probably a safe bet that a significant # of the WoW downloads are people leaving SWG.

Not sure, to be honest.  I seem to get the impression people are moving more to DnL, CoV or a game they previously played.  All you ever seem to hear is "SWG is becoming to much like WoW for my taste".  Although no doubt WoW will be getting plenty of SWG refugees.

Of course WoW will be getting more downloads, it's like the Britney Spears (heh or maybe even Paris Hilton ) of the gaming industry.  Also, FilePlanet isn't the site SOE is using as the official trial distributer, AOL is so I suspect most will be going through there.

They both are. I refused to use the AOL one.

I don't think looking at those numbers is really a good representation of anything right now. You have alot of cancelled accounts that are doing the trial to see if its worth coming back and you have others that have cancelled yet want to see the train wreck firsthand. You also have the commercials going on again at the moment and all the hype (negative or not, hype is hype) at the moment causing attention too it.
