I just had a trip down memory lane and yes, i thought of UO. I was just wondering if anyone shares the same idea as me, that "UO was the best and will be the best game evoor!!1i!". It got bad at the end with the addition of tram, but in the old days it was the cat's meow. To game makers: use this poll to your advantage, UO is great, the people have spoken.
p.s. I liked infantry online alot back when it was free, someone should make a game like that too.

Nothing up to date has come close to the old school UO feeling...not even 1/10 of it.
I fucking hate sunsword..so much..
The only thing that will ever top the quality of UO is a game that offers all the same features with a 3D graphics engine that is 1st/3rd person like most modern MMO's.
NOTHING compares to the feel of UO back in the pre-trammel times. Yes, there are games with better graphics and sound. But that's just technology. UO2 would go over like gang busters. Keep all the gameplay, just upgrade the game to a completely new engine and go to full 3D graphics with 3rd person as an option.

by far the worse game I've ever played. I cringe any time I see the name of that game when I see it on this site.

Shadowbane probably gets the nod as my favorite mmorpg of all time but UO was so close that I voted yes. I always debate whether our fond memories of UO exist because we lacked the mmorpg cynicism we have now. With any current mmo we play we constantly compare it to other titles.
For UO we were a lot more forigiving because we had nothing to compare it to and didn't know of anything better.
Its a tragedy that EA has not done a sequel yet to this loved mmorpg. And its an insult to all of its fans to have done 3 UO2 projects to only scrap them right before beta claiming "we didn't want to fracture the playerbase". I understand that most sequels fracture the existing playerbase like EQ, AC and others have but I don't think this will happen for UO. Granted they have numerous players still in UO but they have hundreds of thousands who have moved on to other titles. A sequel would bring these back and a wave of new mmorpg players. It just makes sense!
UO, released in 1997 is closing in on its 9 year anniversary. For the love of God its time for this game to make a sequel!
EA must hate to make money by not getting this sequel underway...
Already proven that they hate making money.
They cancelled Multiplayer Battletech 3025 MMORPG a little over a month before it was set to release. Who here doesn't think THAT title would have been a huge success?
