Not good. SoG goes live in a little less then 2 hours, and there is no download link yet. Its going to be chaos cause there is no client, and when there is it will be flooded.
DnL is last on my list of upcoming MMORPGs that I might want to play. In other words I'll wait until final release and then wait until the first reviews come rolling out a few weeks later. However I really hate all the crying MMORPG nerds do when a game has any kind of launch. I've seen so much of this in such a short time that it really ticks me off. Nothing is worse than a sports fan or an MMORPG fan in my opinion. Both show an unhealthy devotion until things start going a little sour and then they begin with their pathetic whining and moaning.
I don't see a problem with companies charging $10 or even $20 (gee I wonder where I got the $20 from, no references to my sig or anything), but $60? That's asking for a lot of faith if you ask me. It's not even necessary, unless you were that strapped for funds, you really wouldn't be asking for such a high price tag. That to me is a big waste of money, I wouldn't trust that. But I don't think companies like NCSoft for instance are going broke, so $10 is not a big deal really.
Anyway, I'd imagine they'd make the download link private, so since SoG is only open to people who registered, I think they won't be as bad as people think they will. They won't be good mind you, I remember A LOT of slow load times on the site, but we'll see what happens.
Just so you guys know, the PDF specifically stated these are SoG skills, so I imagine they have more lined up for the official release. After all, SoG is a prelude/preview of DnL. (note I'm not a DnL fanboy, heck I hardly even paid attention to the game, just stating what is known so people don't say the wrong things).

Ok you obviously missed the bus on this one: We are saying that ANYONE who pre-orders an MMORPG. Especially an MMORPG that isn't even in public BETA yet, is foolish.
I can't believe 8 THOUSAND people out there spent $60 on a game sight unseen that isn't even in ALPHA yet.

What kind of Rogue/Thief class has no skill thats specifically "Steal" and instead says "Striking Abilities" and "Assassination Abilities", thats no Rogue/Thief. Thats a Ninja, I can't wait for Dungeons and Dragons Online, finally a game that understands what a Thief is.

I just checked the DnL website and they've already all but shut everything down to be replaced with a simple single page registration for SoG, apparently to save itself from self destruction.
A little tid-bit at the end one of the paragraphs says that the server will be up on December 13th, which of course to my knowledge wasn't brought up before, but I may be wrong as I really havn't been fallowing all that closely. Assuming that they never said that you could only download SoG today and play on Dec. 13th, I forsee a storm of uprising over that one. Oh the fun .

Yes, it does. But pick-pocket is only one of about 9 things a thief should have at their disposal. No MMO has implemented an accurate rogue. UO has come closest. DDO has it nearly perfect but, as I mentioned, the game lacks... badly.
