As game, NME isn't bad, not is it necessarily good. It is free, and as such I can't really complain. Stille, the in game story is writing quality is weak at best, which will hurt Neocron: NME Project's appeal in the long run. I imagine it to be a bad translation, and as such, it's mediocre at best, really. A proper revision of the text would make the game stand out a lot more, make the free experience a lot more memorable.

Gamplay wise, the firing controls of the game feel REALLY... odd. Were the controls akin to the classic Smash TV, where one direction pad is used for moving, one for firing, it would make the game a real blast to play. But as it is now firing is very awkward, not very user friendly. Graphically, not too bad. The music is just amazing, especially considering the game was released free.however!

If Reakktor hopes to use it as a free marketing tool I think they should seriously invest in a better translator who understands writing dynamics. I'd love to help them out with it, as I rather like Neocron. Strong writing can make or break a game, even one so simple as NME.

Then you didn't use an official mirror from Reakktor's site. All the downloads there are of th same file - that's why they post the MD5 checksum for file integrity. If your download doesn't match that - you're downloading someone else's handy work. Use an Official Mirror.
