Why was it not randomised selection? Your thoughts please.

Like others I didnt get a key depite attempting at the right time.

Well years of waiting down the pan.

AD should have taken the email list they had and randomised the selection and made sure no-one was abusing multi-accounts.

What do you all think?

I agree it could have been handled better. I just don't know about this company yet. I haven't given up, but...I've taken a step back to see what happens. Glad I didn't waste $60 on vaporware.

What e-mail list? From forum subscribers? Some don't watch the news there since ages.

Furthermore, such limited free registrations, esp. ones that end up "sold out" so far, hype the game. Such limited access also provides other advertising opportunities. For instance, providing keys to fan sites for Christmas contests.

    Currently playing:
    * City of Heroes: Deggial, Assault Rifle/Devices Blaster. Server: Defiant.
    * City of Villains: Snakeroot, Plant/Thorns Dominator. Server: Defiant.

I've always believed that a good portion should go to the DnL community. The people who have been there for a while and posted with frequency. This isn't something they should tell their community beforehand either as people will just spam posts. Just a thank you to people who have been around for so long and engaged in stimulating conversation regarding the game.

Conversely, they should always have some that are free for the general public to attain. Perhaps 6,000 to the loyal fanbase and 4,000 to the general public. Of course it could be argued that the most loyal fans were the 8,881 that preordered. However there are always a few that are skeptical and a bit unsure and want to try it out beforehand which is perfectly sensible.
