Okay now this game is a MMORPG for the consoles (Much like FFXI) Just to tell ya it kicks ass. I was in Japan (which explains my absence) with my buddies and he purchased the japanese version of the game for his computer. If you loved the old one...you'll obsses over this one. The character creation mode has lost it's "class" option but added an new race to the lineup ...beastman... this is an overal deep game with great graphics and gameplay. The character creation mode is deep(You can change everything from your avatars eye color to the female's cup size....) So I implore you to try it out. the only drawback are the prices. I belive it is free to play online after purchasing the hunters license but it will be expensive in stores so...

Also is this game going to have monthly fees?

I believe it has a fee for beginning online but it think there is no monthly fee. $23 to start (Hunter's Licensce)
and there is no monthly fee. But the release date for the US is either Febuary or June. Thanx for the help finding that Rikimaru_X. SO anyway I'll try to find out more

"Sega announced in the latest issue of Famitsu that the online fees for Phantasy Star Universe will be 1260 yen (8.94 EU/ 10.53 USD) for your first 30 days online. After that, it will cost 1050 yen (7.45 EU/8.78 USD) to renew your account each month if you use the automatic renewal service."

Has never been talk about no monthly fee, even ye old PSO has a monthly fee. (There is a news post & at least 2 other PSU threads buried somewhere in general section & open beta secion). Fee doesnt sound too high but then again if its all instanced zones then it is.
