This game is worth a shot. You can't count out anything from the mind of Lord British, that's for sure. I am concerned about a totally PvE game being compelling enough to keep me interested, but time will tell. Again, being of fan of Richard Garriot for many years, I will give this game a fair chance. I hope this will be a hit for him.
Originally posted by Ghost-Hack meh... I just dont think they have NC community support right now... for whatever reason, NCsoft considers the COH community some kind of failure. ever since that game, they have been unwilling to support a community before beta testing for the game begins.
I think we're just seeing the latest line drawn in that sandbox... that they arent providing much more than teaser info on the site... no community director, no real site manager.... and I think that this lack of mindfulness has lulled the dev team... they arent putting together any info packages to be put up on the site, because no one is asking them for information to put up...
either that... or they are getting screwed over by AA.... having expected it to be released in october, so they could move their community muscle to their next project... and having that not pann out :-P
Either that or NCSoft realized that they don't need to cater to a whiney MMO fanbase and cave in to cries for nerfs... Comic geeks are the worse too, you should have seen the forum boards pre I5, now the boards are flat out dead... They lost a lot of people due to their craptacular publishes... Along with decent content always came a nerf or two.. It just whittled away at people's enjoyment, and eventually the forum boards became comparable to the SWG boards...
I truly believe that game developers and publishers could do without forum boards... Find another way of communication, and don't cater to the whiners, just stick with the original vision I say...

Quoted for absolute truth.
Tabula Rasa looks great. If they do it right, they will create an amazing game. I've had my eye on this for a long time. I'm ready now.

QFT! I left post I6.... they changed my controllers into something I didn't want, then they screwed over my blaster with ED and then gave my defender the most useless power in the game (vigilance) and then I started playing stalkers... I saw the road that was probably going to take, so I left. A player shouldn't have to design their characters PLANNING to be nerfed.
But I regress. TR Looks awesome, I have had it pre-ordered since last november, and I really hope my signing up for the mailing list some months ago will help my beta chances xD

Thinking this game is gonna be console-game oriented only means you failed to understand what's the game gonna be... not to mention that the idea of the most hardened granite PC traditionalist maker of pc games since 1981 ,owing ALL his success to other hardcore RP gamers now suddenly turns up and reasonlessly decides to make a console game , is ridiculous at best
Originally, I was going to disagree with you and say there's no reason it couldn't be ported to a next gen console, provided there was keyboard/and or voice chat support, but then I saw your awesome avatar from conquest of the longbow. Man I loved that game.
So Stellus made this post in 2005? And wasn't there some beta keys handed out in summer 2006? no further new on the progess than a silent website and wild-guessing posters? (no offence )

Double QFT! All you see on those boards is 'devs do no wrong' and 'please nerf <insert AT> because my AT can't do what they can'. God forbid you disagree with those 'changes' on those boards. If you can't back up your opinions with a degree in mathematics and statistics AND extensive knowledge of MMO design then you might as well not argue for 'fun' because you will be summarily destroyed by the hard-core forum elitists. If you like a daily verbal beating then yes, please post your vision of 'balance' and never ever mention fun. Yes, I agree they could do without forums.
But anyways, I was so hoping TR was going to be released by the end of this year. I still watch the gameplay video every once in a while and can't wait for a concrete release date. The combat looks spectacular, the FX looks great, the character models are more detailed and I am so looking forward to exploring a totally new environment(no recent releases of MMOs have inspired me to date).
Between TR and G&H, there will be no need to return to the 'bleh' gameplay that CoX has become.
I learned from Dark and Light and will never get my hopes up again for an MMO. But I must admit I do for STO but it is so far down the road I try not to even think about it.
