what is this SOG game everyone is talking about.... I've had my head buried in the sand.

    It's an even in Dark and Light were you can play for free as a "Settle of Garnath". It is for people who preorder I think and some others.

    It is the open beta for a game called Dark and Light.

    It's surrounded by controversey because the company seems to have
    a very hard time communicating.

    It is not a beta.  At least that is what the devs are saying.  It is a cost-free prelude to the mmorpg called Dark and Light.  It is free, and the full capacity of the servers and resources will not be put toward SoG, at least not right away.

    Initially, there were 8,881 "Pioneers" that pre-ordered Dark and Light, who were given a spot in SoG.  Then recently, 10,000 more players where able to register for a spot.    They intend to regularly and quickly increase the number of players in SoG.

    SoG will be run like a typical mmorpg, it seems.  There is still a Closed Beta for Dark and Light that will run parallel to SoG.
